Default Help! I'm not sure if I'm doing this right!

I'm brand spanking new to the CG way, and am trying to jump in with both feet. I've decided to go no-poo and I've been using the Nature's Gate Herbal Daily Conditioner (from Whole Foods) and then I used the Tigi Bed Head Control Freak Serum this morning and then wrapped my hair up in an old t-shirt of Dh's (a good way to be rid of an ugly shirt ). I left my hair up for a bit and then took the t-shirt off and scrunched and let air dry.

From what I've read, I need another product so I picked up the Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz serum. Am I using 2 of the same type of thing? And, when do I put on the second product, at the same time or after it air dries? And, what is this KY business about, I'm confused!

Sorry this got a little long!

I have the Tigi serum, and had to give it up because it's not CG friendly. I've been trying to sell it on the swap board for ages and no one will buy it because of that . I'm not familiar with your other products, but you'll have to get some sort of SLS poo to get out the cones of the serum at least.

You are using silicones, which doesn't work with CG.

Generally serums are cone-laden, so I tend to avoid them. I don't even need it, to be honest. Definitely use a sulfate shampoo to get that out.

If you want a new product, try a gel or a leave-in conditioner. Gels will give you crunch, but once it dries you can scrunch it out and will have beautiful curls! Leave-ins provide the extra moisture we need.

KY is used because it has similar ingredients to Curl Keeper (and is a cheaper way to try it out). Curl Keeper is used to prevent frizz and a lot of curlies use it.

Silicones end in 'cone, 'conol, and 'xane. If you are CG avoid all hair products with these ingredients.

Thanks ladies!

So, dimethalconal is bad, right? I didn't see it on the stuff I bought today.

I guess it is back to the drawing board again!
