I'm going to get my hair cut because it's not curly at the top (it's wavyish) and i found out that's because the curl weighs it down, so i saw some people say layers is good but my mom seems to think it will be bushy? did anyone get there hair cut in layers or how should i get my hair cut? it's about a foot past my shoulders when curled, i'm not sure what type of curl it is.

i was thinking about getting long layers too, most people with curly hair have layers and their hair looks GEORGEOUS ... it helps lift the roots and define the curl... ill be cutting mine tomorrow and tell you how it goes!

Demand layers! That will definitely solve the weight problem. Just makes sure they are long layers like the other postee said. I just did a video vlog about my last cut, which involved layers, and you can follow the link my siggy to it if you like.

My hair is not as long as yours, but it's thin and fine. It was an amorphous blob until I had my HD cut long layers. I did it over a few haircuts, gradually, so that I could get used to the look and styling without frustrations. That really helped kick up the top layers of my hair, giving more volume on top and softness around my face. When I go back in February, I am thinking about getting it layered a bit more. For me, as long as they are long enough to pull back in a half-up when they don't cooperate, I think I will keep longer layers from now on.

Okay, so I said I'd be coming back the next day..... yah that didnt happen obviously lol. But Im here now! and my hair is GORGEOUS with layers. It's not as triangl-ey and a lot lighter.
