I really need some advice?

Ok, well i start college in January on a hairdressing course, however I have been inforned that I have to expect people to try different hair styles on me and letting them do a shampoo etc on me! Can I get round this, I was watching the tutor on the interview going on about how important it is to shampoo the hair twice etc I kept wanting to shout NOOOOO!!!

Currently on the look out for a new DT and Styling Cream, though Curl Junkie is looking quite good.

uh oh... I can see that particular situation getting hairy (pardon the pun)

Is there a way you could speak with the instructor before hand? Something like that might be best discussed away from the class. He/she might not listen though... you are, after all, going against everything THEY were probably taught. You might end up having to suck it up

LOTS of DTs after class...

yeh thats what I thinking plenty of DTs I just hope that Im not damaging my chances of growing my hair. But on the plus side I sooo want to become a hairdresser and come to the states and learn how to cut hair the Deva way.

That's scary! Definitely up your DTs. I'm guessing they'll use stuff with silicones, so it may be a good thing you're shampooing.

And good luck! That sounds exciting!

In addition to upping your DTs, I would try to do a preemptive strike and protect your hair from the excessive shampooing beforehand - either with a TON of leave in conditioner on the days you know you'll be washed, or even slathering your hair with good oils. Make them deal with the oil - that'll teach them for wanting to shampoo your hair with sulfates! *lol*

Seriously though, Lorraine Massey's way for a wavy to protect the more fragile ends might be a way for you to protect all of your hair - just leave in as much conditioner as you can stand before letting them wash your hair.

If I have to have it washed surely I could bring my deva no poo and one conditioner that may limit the damage a little.

However if im forced to use the dreaded shampoo, should I add more condish in the morning before I style or bring a small bottle of one condish and add to dry hair before they wash it?
