After reading a lot about the cold weather and hair and also having a few not so good hair days, i have decided that KY is giving me frizz. The problem is what to replace it with. I use KBB nectar and aura hypoallergenic gel but this 2 alone still give me frizz. The colder it gets in CT the more frizz I get. Any suggestions. I tried FOTE in the past and didn't work. Thanks again.

Yeah, I've stopped using CK completely now that fall has officially (for now) hit where I live. I just don't need it.

What were you using it for? Mine was always a frizz fighter... but now that the humidity's gone, I don't really need the extra help with the frizz...

I was using it b/c FOTE started to make my hair dry and shapeless, so i decided to give KY a try. I wanted to use this before ordering CK which I heard was good. Now I'm not sure what to do because although my hair looks shinny it has a lot of halo frizz and not so much curl definition. I'm debating whether it is under or over conditioned or what .
BTW I love your curls on the avatar.

Thanks! lol, they didn't look so shiny and perfect in the actual picture. Now if I could just walk around as a 1 inch tall avatar, i'd be set :P

As for your problem... I don't THINK you're overconditioned. I m ean, it's possible but that didn't really cause frizz with me. Some poof, but not frizz. It sounds to me like you might need MORE conditioning. CK/KY will pull moisture out of the air and put it in your hair when it's humid outside... but if it's dry, it'll actually take the moisture from your hair and try to put it into the air. lol, not good.

I'd nix the KY altogether, and do a good DT. And then maybe find a curl creme to use if it's still dry or frizzy.

I'm not 100% sure, but i THINK the aveda products have silicones.... if they do, build up might be your issue too.

I know this is what is supposed to happen with CK/KY but whenever I've taken it out I'm more frizzy. BUT I've added KCCC which is very moisturizing so wondering if that has something to do with it too. In the summer it was CK/BRHG. Now its CK/KCKT/KCCC. I'm in the Northeast so having the same weather.

hmmm...

maybe the moisturizing effect of the aloe in the KCCC counteracts it and gives the CK something to pull from?

*shrug* heck if I know dude. No one said this stuff makes sense...

I can't use the CK with the KCCC combo and I've cut it out for the winter unless it's a rainy/foggy day. I swear it gets more confusing every day.

I'm not longer using the Aveda but I can not remember how to update that information. So Del2C should I just add something to KY, like KCCC? I feel lost with all the in/out of this but I'm glad I have you all for support. BTW I love that they started just a thread for you - well deserved

I know lots of people are still using CK and having luck with it. It helps me with the little frizz I get from the Shampoo bars I just had to cut down how much I used. I'm using 1/2 the amt I was using in the Summer. It might be a hair texture thing too? Kccc combo isn't working for amy but it's worth a try to pair CK with something more moisturizing. You could try it with a leave in perhaps? Or a curl creme if your hair likes them?

That is REALLY good to know about the humidity. I just bought some KY and was wondering why it is not working. I will save it for summer.
