Outside the Comfort Zone
When I decide to try a new product, it's usually because the product I was using has been discontinued, or so I can alternate between a variety of products. It's usually the former, though. After trying the new product, I always say out loud, "Why didn't I discover this sooner?!"
I've also discovered that it doesn't matter what hair type the product is catered towards, if the right ingredients for my hair are there, and in the proper order, it will work for me.
So, I'm always willing to step out of my comfort zone to try new products. How about you?

I'm definitely always up for trying something new, if I think there's even a small possibility it'll work.
lol, that being said, I wait until there's a day when I wouldn't mind if my hair's pulled up before trying it :P I have my 'go to' products for days when my hair has to look fabulous, but every other day i'm game for experiments
Truth be told, i get a kick out of them. You never quite know what you'll end up with.

I'm sorry but I have to say I giggled when I read your post.
I was thinking about my product graveyard of products that didn't work. Like so many others here in PJA (Product Junkie's Anonymous), I'm all too eager to try the next new thing when I already have products that work. So yeah I guess I'm willing to try something new.
I wasn't always this way. I used to be content with just trying new methods.
I will say though, if CK were to be discontinued, I'd be scouring ebay for enough to last my lifetime. And I'd probably have to outbid Notty!

That's me too - my first thought was "I've got a whole closet full of almost new bottles for you!"

We could probably all go through our cupboards and get that certain product that a curly just has to have. I bet all of us could go a year and not buy anything more and have enough product.
I know I could. I am still thinking of getting a box, throwing all my products that I have not used in a 3 months or more and send it to some unsuspecting curly. Then she takes out what she wants and puts in her stuff she is not using and sends it on to the next curly. A product chain box.

Interesting.... Not sure.... lemme think out loud....
When I first went CG I HAD to try everything.... Especially what got raves....
Then I learned what my no-no's were texture and ingredient-wise.... Found some HGs... learned to be happy...
Then came Fall - and my hair, well... Fell All my HGs failed me.... And BOY, was I hesitant to start experimenting again... Most likely because I am a very all or nothing typre; so if I'm gonna try one, I try 'em all! And I SO dont wanna get on that product-whore merry-go-round again!
So I resist unless absolutely neccesary. Guess my answer is that I'm not to crazy about stepping out of my product comfort zone...
I think my 45 minutes are up now; thanks for listening. Same time next week?
Comfy couch, btw....

That's a brilliant idea!!!
I've actually done that with backpacking stuff. Someone starts the box and puts in whatever they don't want or would like someone else to have. The first person takes something out and puts something else back in. You get some really neat stuff.
There are so many products that work well for one person but not the next. Think of all the PJ'ism that could be satisified for the price of shipping.

Wow, you could count me in on that. In fact, I may have acidentally started this....
On my counter, as we speak is an 8"x8" carton of samples and cast offs that I am shipping off to a fellow curly.... Stuff That I held on to that I dont use but might be somebody else HG!
Should we make that "The Box"?? (Assuming she's game too.)

I really like this idea, it just seems like shipping expenses could just get out of control- especially once Curly #2 adds her products, then Curly #3, etc. I'd definitely be interested in participating in this if someone could think of a better way to handle it.

Perhaps... anyway, I don't know how big everyone's product graveyard is, maybe mine is just exceptional...
Oh, and so this isn't a complete guano... I find myself stepping out my comfort zone less often. I love new products, but I've learned so much about my hairs likes and dislikes that I can at least make an educated guess as to whether or not something might work for me.

Uhh..no- mine is pretty huge too!
But also in regards to comfort zone I totally will try other stuff - sometimes too much as I am always looking for the imaginary product that will make my hair thick, full and 3B.

Will see if I can find the receipt.... I can tell you it was full of product mainly (at least 3 full Bottles and about 6 generous samples) and very little packing peanuts.
