Default Help! Problem with my Curls!

Hi! I'm new to the website. I have hair that I guess is a 3b/3c.
However the back of my head keeps losing curl. It's really lifeless and won't hold curl anymore. There's barely any shape. I've tried finger curls, twisting, rag curls, knotting...I've even tried using a curling iron and within an hour the curl has fallen out. I don't know what to do at this point.

I feel really silly with the front of my hair in crazy curls and the back looking practically straight.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate all the help I could get.
Thanks!

Hello and welcome to the boards.

Are you getting lots of moisture into your hair? It sounds like you might be dry.

Also, what is the length like? Some people's hair totally changes curl patterns and may go limp at a certain length.

Just an idea *shrug*

Maybe it's dry...I'm not sure. I only shampoo once a week but I condition 3 times weekly.

Right now my hair is about chin length. I chopped my hair off a year ago ( to the scalp kind of chop) so I'm trying to grow it out to shoulder length.

Mine was just like that before I cut out sulfates and silicones and started getting some good moisture back into it. I started seeing a difference in the curl almost immediately. Now it's completely back to normal. I think in large part I just didn't realize how much moisture the 'cones were keeping out.

Are sure you're getting your products distributed evenly. If I miss spots, I end up with some wonky hair.

I also think you might be in need of a 'pick-me-up cut'. Whem my hair starts behaving badly, I go to my stylist. She cuts a strand here and there (dry) to help boost the curl.

You really need a good curly-hair stylist for this IMO. I have had many talented hair stylists over the years - but this is the only one who has been able to do that for my curly hair without it looking any shorter.
