Hysterical conversation with my husband
I'm lmao as I'm typing this. I have to set the scene for you all.
I'm trying plopping for the first time. I have the day off from work and as usual I'm playing with my hair. Did a DT and am now plopping.
Okay, the phone rings, it's my hubby, I can tell cause I have caller i.d. Picture a split-screen conversation like they'd have on The Brady Bunch.
Me: Hey what's up?
DH: Nuttin. Just want to see what you're doing.
Me: I'm plopping. (I smirK)
DH: (Silence...picture a very confused and concerned look on face)
Me: You there?
DH: Yeah, I'm here.... (slight trembling in voice) You alone?
Me: Just me and the "Littleman" (our 26lb cat)
DH: You okay?
Me: (I'm cracking up at this point) Yeah I'm fine! "Plopping" is a way of prepping my hair!
DH: (With much relief in his voice and starting to laugh) You're always messing with your hair! I had no idea what you were talking about. It seemed almost.... dirty!
Me: I knew you didn't know, I just wanted to hear your reaction! What time will you be home?
DH: Around 7. Good luck with the plopping. (He laughs again)
Me: Thanks, bye.
I don't know about you ladies but I got a kick out of it.
What do your significant others think about all of your experimenting?

My DH shakes his head and rolls his eyes quite a lot. But he does like my curly, at least.

I got an unexpected visit last week from my BF while I was plopping, he giggled every time he looked over at me, and it got worse once I took out the plop and clipped up my roots. Through his hysterics, I explained that it makes my hair look better, and his reaction was, "Oh, well then that's okay, because I love the way your hair always looks." So cute!

My boyfriend thinks its "cute" that I have an interest and will occassionally ask how a product is going.
However, being the person he is he just had to make fun of me today because when he asked how long I had gone without using a shampoo bar this time, he cracked up when I informed him it had been 6 days.

My SO thinks my plopping is hilarious but it doesn't stop him from propositioning me.

My fiance now just ignores my hair tactics. Even though one day he piled his t-shirt up on his head and said, "Guess who I'm supposed to be?"
However, he does constantly point out how many products I have and how I never use any of them.

The last time mine said anything about my hair obsession was the day my Devafuser came and he wanted to know why I was buying Halloween decorations. I guess the fact that it does look like a rather Frankensteinish hand and I got it 2 days before Halloween might have added to that conclusion. Plus it was sitting upright on the computer desk like a mannequin hand or something.

I love the Devafuser comment. If I had it I know my hubby would probably have tried to put it on his head and said, "how do I look?"

Lol, Watch out for a double plops! Sorry, I had to do it!
My sister saw me plopping one time and said "What's with the Princess Lea look?" The way I plop is a different method than the typical, and it makes it look like I have two buns on my head like Princess Lea. She somehow always has to bring that up.
She also runs away screaming whenever I bring up CG since I always pounce on her about it. She has a gorgeous head of long curls but she refuses to take care of them (a whole ton of shampoo, mineral oil, silicones, and brushing DRY!). She thinks she's hilarious

If it were me, I'd just tell him those were now his property as you were handing them down to him and he really should start using some of the products he has so they don't take up so much room.

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.
No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

You guys are so great! I am new to this and I already feel at home. My SO talks about all my products--in addition to my products for my straight hair, I've now started a collection for my curly hair!! Every time we go into a store I head directly to the hair products--he just rolls his eyes at me.
Yesterday I was supposed to be home cleaning house and doing some chores. He called me from work--of course I didn't answer the phone at home--I was out looking for some more hair products. As soon as my cell phone rang, I knew he would figure out what I was doing. When I answered the phone, he said "Out looking for more hair products?" I said, "Ummmm. No." He said, "Liar". So then I confessed. Just wait until I tell him there are hundreds more out there just like me.
I haven't plopped in front of him yet--I am sure that will be a fun time.
