Have you ever gotten this compliment before?

Last night I was at a bat mitzvah. One of my friends who was there I only see about once a week, and I usually have a hat on when she sees me because I come straight from dance class and have strange, flat, uncurly hair from my ponytail. Basically, she hasn't seen me with my hair down since I started CG.

So my friend was sitting there sproinging my curls (I usually get a few ringlets around my face.) My friend looks at my hair and goes "Wow, so pretty! You used a curling iron, right?"

The look on her face when I told her it was natural was priceless.
Anyone else get these sorts of compliments?

(A bit guano but there was one girl at the party with the most GORGEOUS hair- 3a/3b leaning toward 3b, super thick, NO frizz whatsoever... and she told me that all she used was a leave in conditioner! I was so jealous.)
Mod CG as of 10/18/08
Using: Suave Naturals, L'oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss, LA Looks Sports Gel.

Yes, I hear that from people who haven't seen me in a long time. I used to blowdry my hair straight for years.
That's awesome! Compliments are like magic, they just make the entire day (or sometimes the entire week).

I've been asked a few times whether I used a curling iron on my hair. Some people who have known me for years, but mostly saw my hair tied up during rehearsals and whatnot would see me in the hall one day and say something like "did you curl your hair? It looks really pretty!" I love the look people give you when you tell them it's all natural It's just so worth every moment of experimenting, and testing to get the right routine etc.

I want to run away and join the Cirque.

I either get:
"oh my goodness, your hair is so gorgeous! It's permed, right?"
or
"oh my goodness, your hair is so gorgeous! Do you ever straighten it?"
The second one always cracks me up. When I say that I don't straighten my hair, the response is "well, why not?"
It's always so awkward. : )
two people asked me this at my church as i walked in.

they said "do you use a curling iron?" and when i say no i love the reactions!!

I went to my local salon for some Deva products and the one stylist commented on "what gorgeous curls I had" and asked if it was permed. Of course I said no. What a compliment coming from a professional
I've never gotten the curling iron thing, but people have asked me if I've gotten a perm. One of them was a hairstylist...who you think would know better.

A random girl told me if I permed my hair.
When I said "no," she told me that I was lucky and I can straighten my hair today and leave it curly tomorrow.

This Asian girl in my class told me that she loves my natural hair and wish to have hair like mines.

And my sister loves my hair so much she cut all her hair off(BC) and went natural. She's (4a/4b).

Lastly, I went to college after high school and many of my friends sew me w/ curly hair for the VERY first time.
(I used to love flat ironing my hair everyday)
They all were like "your hair looks so pretty! You should totally go for modeling before I kill you!" lol

3c/3b fine texture, normal density, high porosity

Shampoo: Devacare Low Poo, Devacare No Poo
Conditioner: Devacare One Conditioner
Leave-In: Devacare One Conditioner
Oil: Grapeseed Oil
Treatment: Coloful Protein Filler
Gel: Eco Styler Argan Oil
Well, actually, this particular stylist was one of those who goes OMG LOVELY HAIR and proceeds to cut it badly and tell you to straighten it every day. I decided to never go back there agian, except they were having a sale on products so I bought a few things. She rung me up and THEN made the perm comment. I said, no, actually, this is my natural texture, which last time I was here you told me to straighten out! She looked vaguely uncomfortable...and of course I'm never letting her near my head with scissors again. Not after that cluelessness OR the bad haircut she gave me...

I hate when I tell someone my hair is naturally curly and they argue with me! They insist I got a perm or used a curling iron! LOL.
I get -- Where'd you get your perm? It is so even. I say it's natural and get NO. Then after going back and forth with -- yep have been fighting it all my life and finally decided not to -- they will believe me and say how lucky. Well, believe me, I didn't feel so lucky in the 60s when the style was straight and teased to the sky!!! LOL
