Will my hair ever grow?

I haven't cut my hair since early June and sure it seems to have grown a bit, but it is still taking a ridiculous amount of time. I want long curls!

I figured that you ladies [and a few possible men] could sympathize.
I can sympathize. I got a fairly BC in June and I know it's grown but it always seems to get to a certain length and then kind of just stop or at least really slow down.

Where are you from? I know that here in Maine, when the weather gets cold, my hair grows like crazy. We are talking an inch or more a month. I am guessing it has to do with cold and all those good things.

Wow, that's odd. I read that curly hair grows faster in the summer and general warmth. Hmm, that gives me hope for this winter then.

Annarie, have you tried supplementing your natural growth? I mean scalp massages, or vitamins for hair growth? I've never used either (lazy and broke), but I've heard others doing that on the Growing Out board. If you have split ends, trims might help? I don't know how much of that you already do.

And my hair hasn't been past my shoulder in 4 years, I miss it!

annarie: I feel your pain. In fact, I just started a thread asking Speckla what she puts in her water. I've been growing my hair FOREVAH and she just had hers cut. Hers already looks longer than mine. Her vitamin regimen is in that thread.

I never seem to be lacking in unwanted body hair, either. I wish I could redirect my body's leg-hair-growing energy into scalp-hair growing. You know they'll have a method for that in 2015 or something.

Does your hair seem longer to you in the shower?

After all we may have to grow 3 inches of hair before it spirals around enough to look an inch longer dry.

I grow faster in colder weather too. Since I color treat, I can tell by the roots, lol.
Kiva! Microfinance works.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
i was taking vitamins for hair growth and it did not work for me.

i also was using mane tail groom (scalp oil that suppose to grow your hair faster) .. it did not work either.

so, i gave up.

anyways, my hair seems to grow longer in the winter. i live in FL and there isn't too many cold weather. when january - march comes around my hair is always longer but in the summer time my hair starts to get shorter because the sun is heating up my ends causing it to split.

I thought mine wasn't growing until I straightened it one day. WOW it is growing! I just couldn't tell because of the shrinkage.

After about 2 months of biotin I'm seeing tiny little hairs growing too at my hairline, about 2 inches long. I wonder if that means my hair is growing an inch a month? That is wayyy faster than the norm, isn't it?

Annarie, I feel your pain. I've been growing my hair since March (well, before that, really but I haven't had so much as a trim since then) and it's only in the past month or so that I'm starting to see some difference (when dry). This curly hair growing business is not a rapid process. Grrrr.
