Default Hair products that aren't as heavy as hair oil

I cannot use hair oil... any type of oil because it's way too heavy for my hair. My mother tried it when I was young and said it worked horribly and it took forever to wash out. Hair creams make my hair dry out, but it looks good after I wash it the next day. Is there something else that I could put in my hair? Carol's Daughter Hair Milk worked good, but it was a bit too heavy and made my hair look greasy. Is there something that works just as good, but won't give me the greasy effect?

The Karen's Body Beautiful hair milk is much nicer than the Carol's Daughter. They also make a hair nectar that is half the oils of the milk. The CD left my hair greasy, stringy and frizzy.
