Whats the best kind of towel to use for plopping?
So... what works best for you? and can you tell why (dries fastest, etc.) also if you have tried multiple things, tell the differences (one gives clumpier curls, etc.)
thanks!! |
i voted tee-shirt because for me, it's easiest to tie in a knot at the nape of my neck. when i used a microfiber towel to plop i used to secure it with a hairtie.
i do still scrunch with the microfiber towel first, then plop in the tee-shirt. i found that using something separate for scrunching and plopping makes my hair dry faster because i'm not plopping into something that's already soaked. |
Same as Pixiecurl, t-shirt is easier to tie for me. I secure the microfiber towel with a hair clip when I use it too.
I also scrunch all the drips out and sometimes plop for a few minutes in the microfiber towel until it's soaked and then I change to the dry t-shirt. |
Yay! I'm the first "Other" vote!!
I use a camp towel. I think it's made with viscose or something. I don't know. I bought it for camping but found out that it's great for my hair and I love that it dries quickly! I've never used anything else except your regular terry towel. Except sometimes I change my shirt while my hair is drying (but out of a towel) and I scrunch my hair a little as I take off my t-shirt! |
I use the new Curl Ease towel. It's bigger and light weight. It also dries hair faster.

I use a regular long sleeved t-shirt. I find that the long sleeves help me to tie it more securely to my head.
|
When I was plopping, I used a large T-shirt as it was big enough to hold all my hair and has a very smooth surface to keep the frizz down.
What's a Curl Ease towel? |
I am curious too about the curl ease towel that has been mentioned. This is all I can find on it - and I am too lazy to call :P
