Rememember Recoil??? Anyone with New combos??
I've learned so much since joining this site it's amazing to me. I used to use Recoil but didn't have the greatest results because I didn't rotate it and it really did a number on my hair cuz of the Magsulph. Now that I rotate stuff I dug this out and I'm curious....Who's still using it and HOW???
Sunshine girl said she paired it with KCCC! Who woulda thought??? One thing I'm thinking is using a Leave-In will help, I only use leave in with KCCC usually.
So let's here some More combos please!!!!

I've been putting it in between KCKT and KCCC and have been getting great curls! I also use it under any gel to get some extra oomph if I feel like I need it.

I use it in my rotation in between KBB leave in and KCCC with a touch of BRHG and its great. I can't use it every day though, so I've been rotating it with Mop-C, CBB, and a few other things.

One thing that I LOVE about Kccc and DMHJ is that they control my POOF and volume. I used to love the way Recoil helped with definition. I'm hoping to find a combo with Recoil that will help keep my waves defined without the POOF. Does using KCCC with it help in this regard? I DON'T want Volume!

hmmm .. what a good idea .. haven't used this stuff since last winter.. think I'll have to dig it out of moth balls and give it a whirl.
Last year was CK, re:coil and then gel - so I'll try that as an opening this year too.

I did a Google search and found gals combining Recoil and JoiWhip but I'm afraid that will make me a gigantic POOF ball!!!

I really like recoil, sometimes I use it in place of or in conjunction with CK. It makes my hair more curly and more shiny and defined. One of those things where I feel like I get what I pay for.
Generally, I use a LI, then the Recoil, and then a bit of gel on top for hold.

I don't get poof when I use KCCC over the Recoil. I haven't tried it without some kind of gel on top though, so I don't know how it would behave on its own. I think mouse generally gives a little more volume than gel, so the Joiwhip might not be the best combo if you want to control volume - but I haven't tried the Joiwhip mouse so I'm not certain on that one.

Totally bored right now so I'm going to dig out the re:coil and try it. Let you know how it goes.

I love re:coil! My hair has never seemed to have had issues with magnesium sulfate, and re:coil seems to give me very good curl definition and a bit more volume. (Or is it enough body to look like I have more volume?) My hair is so freakishly fine that, although my hairdresser tells me -- in a nice way -- that I "have an awful lot of it," getting more volume is a good thing.
So far, re:coil seems to be the only thing that works well for me in hot, humid weather and in cold, dry conditions.
Other things my hair is loving this winter are: Boots Curl Creme, Kinky Curly Curling Custard.

I honestly should work as a promoter for AG because I am in love with Re:coil and I try to give a sales pitch to everyone I meet. I've been using it with Down Under Naturals Gel for about eight months now and have no plans of switching. I used to use a leave in under it, but I don't think I really need one...

Well I've tried a few experiments and so far so good! One thing I'm changing for SURE is I'm co-washing when I use Recoil. It does tend to be drying for me so I need the extra moisture. I tried it with KCCC and got some nice ringlets! ME of all people!! Problem was I low-pooed so my hair felt a little dry.
Next time I used the Deva line that is collecting dust in my bathroom. I was pleasantly surprised, as long as I don't use DEVA exclusively it works really well! I did a no-poo, followed with Deva One C and didn't rinse it all the way out. Then used DevaArc and a nice blob of Recoil and it doesn't feel dry, producty and it's not POOFY.
So if anyone wants to get rid of some Deva One-C send it my way I posted on the swaps. I'm adding this back in to my rotation for the cold months ahead.

Woohoo! Ringlets!!! Glad you found a winter routine that's working for you del.
I've been using re:coil the last couple of days. Tried it with KCCC yesterday and had pouf by end of day (per usual). Tried it again today with KCCC and BRHG over top. So far so good. I'd love to like KCCC. If I pouf again today, I believe it will be my last attempt to use it.
I don't know whether I notice more curl with re:coil or not. I do know that my hair has been lifeless and limp over the past few weeks which only made me lazier than ever. I did a KPAK treatment yesterday and used the re:coil. Things are looking up.

One of my MANY routines going you mean??? My experimenting is out of control! But at least I'm getting decent results so it's all good. The funny thing is that each new combo does something diff. to my hair which is nice cuz it changes my look a little
I know with me KCCC mixed with BRHG was the key to getting it to work so hopefully this will work for you! I guess you could do BRHG and Recoil and that could work or another gel if BRHG is too much for you

ditto-ing Del... KCCC just doesn't work for me on its own. I've been mixing it with equal parts LA Looks curl gel and it works fabulously. For the most part, I use the KCCC for a small bit of hold and mostly just for added moisture. It really seems to cut back on the frizz I usually experience with mag sulfate products like re:coil and jessicurl Kind of counteracts the drying effects, and adds to the hold of the LA Looks gel.

One thing I wanted to add was that DevaArc never had enough hold for me but when Paired with Recoil it fixed that! No idea why.....recoil is an activator but it does have great hold.

My favorite "mixer" for Re:Coil is Aloeba. I mix a little dab of each together before applying and follow with a gel or mousse. Re:Coil doesn't like me without Aloeba so I'm waiting for my JC shipment to arrive so I can pull the Re:Coil back out.
