Products to keep color from fading

I am getting my hair colored tomorrow and I really want it to last as long as possible. I am looking for suggestions for shampoo and especially conditioner that won't strip the color. Right now I use Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo and condish, anyone familiar with how they work with color? I'd prefer the shampoo to be sulfate-free and for the condish to be 'cone-free. Any recs? TIA!

depending on the color you want to go, will play a part in a product. I know with the color I went, (light ash blonde) my stylist suggested a "purple" shampoo.

I have reddish brown hair and I'm going darker. Like a rich chocolate brown.

I always take the Robert Craig condish with me when I get my color done, then use it for the first week afterwards til the color takes and the cuticle closes again.

But i have also found that my color lasts SO much longer (even my colorist noticed) since going CG - no doubt from the lack of detergent in my hair "diet".
