Is your hair YOU?

My best friend wanted to see what my hair would look like straight, and so we spent over two hours attempting to de-curl it all. Note the use of the word attempting. Anyway, after we had gotten it reasonably straighter, her comment was, "You know? I think I like you better with curly hair. It's more you." It made me determined to be curly even more.

YES it is now. It wasn't until I discovered CG a few years ago. Before that I always felt that my hair just "wasn't right" -- I had tons of hair and volume but it was frizzy and pouffy. I thought I just had "bad" or "damaged" straight hair, because my hair was silky and straight until my teen years. I never had any idea how to care for it and every stylist blew it out and plastered it with 'cones to make it straight, which I didn't like either and couldn't reproduce at home if I wanted to -- but I knew it didn't look like me. I ALWAYS wanted curly hair. Now my hair looks completely different and it LOOKS LIKE ME! I feel like me now with my waves (and some curls) and my hair is long as I always wanted it and it's really healthy, and I get compliments on it all the time.
So yes, I feel very identified with my hair. It just makes me sad that I spent so much of my life not having it be "me" and not knowing how to care for it.

I think my hair is me. Whenever I straighten it I feel more serious, and more dull, but when it's curly, I feel I can be my crazy, kooky self.

Eh, I'm gonna have to say no! I'm more of a reserved sort of person, and I tend to think that straight hair would fit my personality better. I still lurrrve my curls though. <3

I love my curls, but it is not an extension of me... it's just the type of hair that I was born with... pure genetics, and nothing else.

It was a frizzy gross mess, and I always felt people were staring at my hair (not in a good way). I just desperately wanted to fit in and NOT stand out at all, so I hated my hair. It's taken time to break out of that thinking (and now I'm a lot more confident). But I do sometimes feel a little more self conscious when I wear my hair curly. I hope it will change as I get older. I love curly hair, but am still learning how to love mine.
3Aish hair, thin and fine-to-medium in texture, couple inches past shoulder length

Curly: GVP The Cream (love this)

This is a hard one for me. The answer is yes and no. I had straight hair until I was an adult so my curls are new to me (in the scope of my life). But I love them more than my boring straight hair. And BF always says he loves my hair much more now than when I used to straighten. He says my hair fits my personality, crazy and loud .
