Default Ever get bored? How do you spice up your curly hair?

So sometimes I get bored of just the basic keeping my curly hair down and curled or half up with a clip, or up in some casual little updo and the big one, which rarely happens...straightening my curly hair. What do you ladies do to spice up your curly hair?

I dye it or cut it.

I used to be crazy with the color. My hair bounced back for a long time. The best thing I ever did ended up out of a bad highlight job. My sister accidently pulled too much hair through the cap and then I left the bleach on too long so I had big white streaks against brown hair. I decided to go with it and found this great purpley brown color. I added streaks of that and of a red (that turned out hot pink). I kept this look up for a long time and it was pretty damn awesome.

Maybe I should go a little crazy again to break out of my rut.

Side ponytail, low pigtails, braids, side braid, clipping back on side, sparkly hair jewels...I like being prepared and planning things, so I tend to make up hair schedules...like, on Monday, leave it down, Tuesday, half up, so if I oversleep I have a nice reference to get back to.

Ahem. Not insane, I swear.

I had a similar issue, I was getting kinda bored with down/halfup/ponytail. Then, I was watching Lost a few weeks ago and I thought this updo was cute. I've just had issues getting it as tight as in the photo, but at least it works with my shorter hair

I really like this style! Do you just twist bunches of hair back?

I just start at the part and kinda twist back, gathering a little hair as I go. Like I said, I haven't quite figured it out yet, I feel like I need an extra set of hands to keep from losing the twist when I start on the other side.

Maybe temporarily clip that side while moving on to the other? I so want to try this, too...but may fail miserably.

I twist starting at the hairline and every few inches either use a hair pin or a bobby pin to secure the twist so I don't lose it if my hands slip or when I get to the end. It's also fun to do with just half your hair and leave the underside curling underneath. If I just do half my hair, I secure it with a jaw clip. Easy peasy.

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

I wore mine in braided pigtails today. I like that I was able to leave my hair soaked in conditioner without anyone knowing that I was doing a DT. I did get a few Pippi Longstocking references, though (mostly from my husband).

I think that hats like this are really cute with curly hair!
