hurrah, I found a silicone free serum!

I think I have found the answer to my prayers, a Silicone free serum.

I have been missing my frizz ease serum and finally found one that actually makes a point of being silicone free! it uses red seaweed extract and white tea instead of silicone.

It's called James Brown, and is in a deeply unimpressive white bottle. I have so far used it once and my hair feels much less frizzy. Oh and it smells lovely!

Has anyone else used this product? what do you think?
UK based curly bonce! (Lancs)
silicone, or not to silicone - that is the question!!!

Uses:
CG - australian organics (Holland and Barratt) poo & condish, Louise Galvin Deep condish treatment, boots pink curl creme

Still searching for the winning combination!!!

Sorry, forgot to say, I got it at boots. RRp 5.49 but I had a voucher so got 2 off (it's eligible for the hair care vouchers expiring 24/2/9 that they were giving out if you spent over a tenner)

Oops! Turns out the shine product is actually silicone based. Oh well! They don't seem to list all the ingredients on their ingredient page because I didn't see the silicone listed.

Think I'll need to try that. I never bothered looking at the ingredients cos I just assumed it would have silicon in it.

Have you tried the James Brown Curl Enhancing Conditioner? I love it, it's my favourite product ever but I haven't been able to find it in any Boots store recently. Just hoping it hasn't been discontinued.
Hair type: 2c-M-ii with extra frizz
I think I may have to try some of the James Brown stuff next time I'm in a Boots that stock it. Thanks for listing all the serum ingredients - I couldn't fidn them online.

  • Going back to basics!
  • Happily using a mixture of sulphates, cones and CG products.
  • Permanently undecided whether to cut or grow!
Currently loving:
Lush I Love Juicy shampoo
Charles Worthington frizz smoothing conditioner

Superdrug coconut & almond intensive conditioner
Montagne Jeunesse avocado & cherry bark mask
Umberto Giannini curl gel
Boots 'pink' curl creme
I think they have it in the boots on-line shop if your local shop doesn't have it, it's just a pain waiting for delivery I suppose.

The curl enhancing conditioner looks good, and I shal purchase some later today, I don't think it's discontinued becos it's still on the james Brown product pages on the website under styling, http://www.jamesbrownlondon.com/

The Avon Mark brand has two cone-free serum products. I like the no-iron smoothing fluid. Link below.

GHD also has a silicone-free serum, available at Sephora, but I haven't tried it.

I used Bedhead Control Freak serum for years. It has water-soluble cones and I never experienced and build-up. Smells nice too, and the bottle last a long time!

But lately, I'm using Living Proof No Frizz Styling Cream, and it's way better than any serum I ever tried. It is seriously some great stuff!!

Style: DermOrganic Argan Oil Treatment/Serum, Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in, Kerastase Nectar Thermique, Oyin Hair Dew

You can get Living Proof at Sephora or from livingproof.com. Also there's a good deal on it from hsn.net.

It's pricey but, man, it works better than any silicone serum I've ever used! I have always been a serum lover too. I never thought I'd say that I found a product that actually works better.

Wurly, fine, thin, moderately to heavily porous. Mod CG.

I think the Dirt Texturizing Paste is more like a pomade.

Can you buy James Brown in the U.S. or on the net?
GHD also has a silicone-free serum, available at Sephora, but I haven't tried it.
