Default According To My New Stylist, Gel Is Passe

Hmm.

Well, I'm still going to use it. I'm trying to let my hair get back to about chin length. Here's my journey so far:

This is yesterday when I started thinking it was looking a little raggedy and needed a trim to help it grow out in one length:

This is today after my new cut. Pretty much the same, just one length and shorter:

looking at them all I'm wondering if I should have cut it. Now I'm thinking it was okay.

Springcurl, you're adorable. I like it framing your face in the third and fourth pictures. Shows off your big eyes.

Are you going to keep it away from your face as you grow it out? I think that's a good look for you.

I agree. And, I'm trying to grow my hair out to about chin length myself. Nice to see another curly with short hair.

Springcurl, you look like my aunt (I think she's beautiful, so it's a compliment!). I like the hair off the face, too. You have great cheekbones.

Thank you! Yes, I really like it away from my face like that. I suppose when it gets longer it's going to fall anyway, so I might as well keep it back for as long as I can.

Love your hair. You look fantastic! But to the gel thing - I will not be giving that up no matter what.

Springcurl - it looks great! Of course, I also think it was great before the trim. Your hair really does flatter you so well. And you look wonderful after all that weight loss. Kudos to you!

So, if gel is passe, then what did she suggest you (we) use?

He, actually. I dunno, some pasty type stuff that wouldn't have given me the hold I need. I have no problem with my hair having what I call the "hard candy shell." But he doesn't like that.
