I don't comb in the shower, but i've started to comb my hair in the morning when i wet it to distribute the products, and it's resulted in much better hair days

Personally, I'm washing about every 4 days so there are quite a few knots in there after multiple pony tails. Therefore, I absolutely MUST comb through and I usually due in the shower while conditioning. If I apply products then I may comb through for even distribution. But, my wide comb is the shower and stays there where it belongs. Once my hair is no longer soaking wet and conditioned, a comb isn't going near it!

I barely ever comb my hair now (since Jan and my last visit to the salon) but if I do, I use a wide tooth comb.
I bought mine at WalMart for around $3
Make sure to start at the ends!
The only reason I do use a comb is if I just feel my curls are completely out of control...but usually I use Tresseme Anti-breakage conditioner (amazing!!) and I finger comb it through my hair, rinse and then all I have to do is shake my hair when I'm out of the shower and scrunch some product in and I'm good to go!
Hope this helps!!

Does that Tresseme conditioner have 'cones? All of theirs I've ever looked at did, so I've quit even bothering to look at their products . . . .

Me, too - I only comb in the shower with conditioner in. I use a wide toothed comb to prevent breakage (there's a picture of my comb at http://www.hotcombs.net/products/Mag...umbo-Rake.html). I have a Jilbere shower comb that I have attempted to use, but my hair is too thick for that.

I love Tresemme conditioners! I have used Anti-Breakage, Thermal Recovery, and Moisture Rich. They are great for detangling!

My new comb is amazing! I am losing less hair than I have in years and my frizz is much better. Oh I'm so happy I gave in.

Default I know I'm a little late...

to this discussion but, I thought I'd share what I've been doing over the last couple of days.

My frizz is horrendous. I tried several of the techniques I've seen on this site, but nothing is helping in that department. What i figured was that perhaps I needed to smooth the hair together somehow to stop the frizz. so after towel drying I put my products in and comb them thru in sections with a smaller toothed comb. After combing each section i scrunch that section individually. On the top of my hair i comb straight up and scrunch that way. I have better results like that.

Last night I tried to just finger comb and scrunch in the shower but...eek. Frizz was way bad, defiantly had to break out the fine tooth comb.
