I'll post what I think when it arrives. With my coupon and free shipping it was $38. Can't beat that great deal!

My husband would kill me. You'll have to tell me if it makes a difference for you or not. Do you diffuse or air dry? I forget. I air dried some in the summer. I just like the volume I get from diffusing now.

I diffuse to get volume. However Tahia + Diffuser = DISASTER. No matter how we do it the minute that diffuser gets near her hair like that her hair has a hissy fit. Complete tantrum and meltdown. Since her hair takes at least 1 and sometimes 2 days to dry I wanted to get this little do-hickey-device to see if we could cut that...in addition to DT for me and her AND drying for my son's hair as his hair takes all night to dry and then he looks like Frankenstein the AM..but it is cold in the morning here so I can't let him take his bath in the AM--no wet head to school.

I've seen others who are prone to more frizz like Belasuna say this works very well to cut that. That's what I'm hoping.

Also now that I have an interest in my hair I'd like to try things like flexi rods or rollersets or something fun...so this will help with that

I'll let you know! The Deva Fuser was a bit of a disappointment for me..I still rarely use it and it was as expensive as this thing. The way I figure it I can for sure use this for DT's at a minimum so it will pay for itself shortly anyhow!

You gals having a great experience with the r2d2 really need to post reviews At Sally online. I went to look for a hard hat or bonnet dryer last month, and the reviews for this one are pretty bad.

Also, for those using it since last April, how is it holding up? Still working well for you or have you dropped its use?

I'm considering getting one. I had originally planned to use the old one my MIL had (a hard bonnet from the sixties), or get a soft bonnet one cheap on ebay; but I read up on those and those made before 1980 are dangerous with asbestos (most). I don't feel like inhaling asbestos, no sirree.

And the ones made today seem to be mostly cheapo crap, not sturdy like the one from ye olde days. So, I'm really interested in how it's going 10 months later for y'all who bought in spring of last year.

I may end up shelling out for the adjustable, rolling Babyliss one, just so I don't have to finagle the angle/table/chair situation.

I used that Sally coupon a couple weeks ago, and I'm gonna use it again for my next purchase (if I get the dryer).

I always google up promo codes before I buy online. Whether it's Curlmart, Sally, Drugstore.com, Sephora, AveYou, or whomever. Amazing what great coupon codes are out there within reach of a simple google search. RetailMeNot and CouponCabin tend to be my fave results.

I'm still using mine. It's perfect for a DT or PT. I use it periodically instead of diffusing. Usually when I have lot of time. I still have to diffuse my ends a bit as I'm too long now to get the ends even with a towel attached to the back. I like how my curls look but I have to clip (which I'm not very good at) or the top of my hair is a bit flat.

All in all, it has been well worth the money for me.

I agree but it's only been a few months for me.

We use it for PT/DT, drying my son's hair when it's cold, and for Tahia when we need to go somewhere or to give her a heads start. Probably use it 2-3x per week. IMHO it's paid for itself

I haven't had any problems with mine at all. Very happy with it!

I love my R2. I admit to putting him away in the summer - but once it got cold again out he came. Helps with root lift and gives me some downtime to relax while drying.

I do 15 minutes under then diffuse my ends.

What a coincidence that this thread came up today. I've been searching for an R2D2 without success. My hairstylist/salon owner friend was checking with her supplier, but they only carry commercial dryers. Lucky for me, my friend was replacing her salon dryers with new ergonmic models and she gave me one of her salon dryers...woohoo!! It's a commercial dryer that is compact, easily stores and is on wheels. It has various heat settings, flow settings and a timer. I want to thank rudeechick who so graciously offered to pick up an R2D2 and ship it too me...I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. Also, ondulee, if you read this, sorry, not able to get reasonably priced dryers...the commercial dryers start at about $500.
Now, my question for all of you is, when you use the R2D2 to dry, does it cause dryness to hair vs. using a diffuser? Does it control frizz better than diffusing?
TIA

Mine's holding up fine, though I'm another that didn't really use it during warm weather except for DT's. Don't always have time to use it even when cold, but I love it when I do. I also have to diffuse the ends some as they hang out too far, even with the towel clipped onto the back edge to help direct air downward.

If I only use R2D2, I get no frizz. I have to clip the top, too, to avoid flatness, and sometimes their removal causes me some. I never use it on high, which I think would definitely cause dryness and damage, especially right above the forehead, or at least the point that it hits on me would.

Strangely, there's a too-far point for me where my product seems to sort of break down and not hold if I dry it completely under the dryer, so I always stop short of that. I seldom sit under it more than 20 minutes, and then only on medium.
