is there any way to make my hair dry faster?!

i love the way my hair looks after i take a shower, but my hair takes 4 hours to dry so i have to shower at night and go to bed with it if i take a shower in the morning my hair isnt dry until about third period wich is halfway through my school day & i dont want to go through most of the school day with wet hair. is there ANYTHING i can do to make it dry quicker, any products or anything? (right now when i get out of the shower i scrunch it with a cotton t-shirt to get rid of the dripping, but i dont plop because it messes up my curls & i dont diffuse because i dont have one and not sure if i should buy one because of frizz problems)
My hair is the same - it takes 4-5 hours to dry and it's only shoulder-length!

I scrunch with a micro-fibre towel then let my hair air-dry until most of the curls have reached some sort of nice formation (this maybe takes 45min?) and then I diffuse. Diffusing, for me, actually reduces frizz if done properly. Just try not to let the air blow your hair about too much.
Fine texture (I think?!), normal porosity
No 'poo since May 2007

Current products (used only as & when required!):
- Naked Sensitive Scalp conditioner
- Shikakai powder
- Jojoba oil

is there any special diffusers to get? or any threads or whatever you call them that i can read up on about diffusing?
Do a search in the forums for "diffuse" or "diffusing" in the topic titles - you'll get loads of info.

I just bought a cheapo, compact little hairdryer with a small diffuser attachment. It is sort of cup-shaped, although you can get ones which are flatter, but those don't seem to work as well, for me anyway.

Plopping definitely helps. My hair always takes forever to dry too, but since I started plopping, it can air dry on it's own fairly fast. Figure it's still sopping wet at 6:30 AM, and if I do a 20 minute plop, it can be nearly dry by around 9 AM.

Plopping and diffusing help. Also I find the more product I put on, the longer it takes to dry. Even with diffusing, when I use a lot of product, it's hours later before I'm completely dry.

There's no shame in continuing what you're doing, if it works. lol my hair takes awhile to air dry, so I've been diffusing (little to no frizz) which knocks back the time DRASTICALLY (maybe an hour or two). I also scrunch the heck out of it with a towel to get as much water out as I can before diffusing.

I still slather my hair in product too. Sure, it might dry faster without it, but it won't look half as good... I'd rather it take a bit longer, personally Same with plopping. My hair goes wonky when I plop too, so if it doesn't work for you, that's cool. Don't do it It's all a balancing act between what you're hair likes, and what you're wanting it to do. You'll find that balance between your curls and the drying time with a bit of trial and error.

Styling loves: DIFFUSING! CK, KCNT, KCCC, FOTE (on dry hair only), Re:coil, Proclaim gel
Not sure about: Boots, Tweek, KBB Milk, DMHJ
HATE: plopping, FOTE on wet hair, BRHG
Also, the Deva diffuser is great for drying the hair underneath, so that realy speeds up the drying time. If you just get the diffuser kit, not the whole Deva dryer, it's not that expensive, and totally worth it!
I'm about to put in my order for Curls Like Us curl cloths. There has been some buzz recently on the boards about how well they wick away water but leave the curls in tact and frizz free. It may be worth it for you if plopping isn't your thing.

(For me, the key to faster drying was making sure I got all the water out of my roots. But your hair may be different....)
