Ooo hate you all! I LOVE a Bob. I think they are so cute. I had mine cut almost a year ago and it was around mid neck and im wishin it was that way again. I usually do when it gets past shoulders. Just something about a shorter cut thats fun and bouncy and cute to me. I am going to try and hold out but im sure that when spring comes around I will hack it off LOL

i really want to get my hair cut short/ into a bob and i don't know if ti would work with my thick 3a/b hair heres a link to my thread explaining what i sort of want and my hair history: opinion needed long to short?

what do you guys think?
I have uberthick hair and I've sported numerous lengths of angled bob since growing out my pixie 2 years ago. Er, that is to say, I *had* an angled bob until I moved and had to get a new stylist and the one the dart landed on didn't believe that my hair was curly (because it was in a 3rd day brushed and oiled ponytail) and proceeded to give me some kind of godawful shag thing that immediately poofed into a perfect rectangle.

So yeah.

Now I've got an awesome stylist and I'm growing that mess out . . . right back into my angled bob.

I think they are *awesome* on thick, curly hair. Tousle the curls a bit once they're dry and it's, like, instant vixen hair. Love.
I have a bob about chin length and i plop for the amount of time it takes me to get my contacts in and my moisturizer on my face. probably about 3 minutes. then i put in product and scrunch with another t-shirt. gets all the wetness out without leaving it in too long to get too dry!

I just got my hair cut into a bob and I LOVE IT!! It's still taking me a bit of getting used since I've never been this short and I cant pull my hair into a ponytail when it goes bad. LOL!! Funny thing though is that I'm learning my hair all over again because the things that worked when my hair was BSL doesn't work with my short hair. It wants totally diff things.

Has anyone else experienced that??

I used to have an inverted bob before I went Mod-CG. I have been growing it out because my hair gets wavier the longer it gets...BUT there is a reason I had my hair so short when I straightened it and wearing it "natural" has not changed that My hair just looks better shorter.

Anyway, I really love this cut, and I know it's most likely styled with a curling iron, but it's very close to my pattern. Do you think I still need a little bit of layers, not just straight across? I would not get in inverted either, hoping to keep some of the wave back there...

TIA!

Yes, looks like you'd still want some long layers in there to get the correct shape. Love that style!

Hey I hope this thread is still going!

I am considering getting a bob for summertime. My only worry is that I would like it to be at least at my shoulders by September. Is that's possible? If I got a bob it would probably be an inch past chin-length dry. I will also be in the pool almost everyday, so I don't know if chlorine would affect the growing process (I already have a routine that is cg friendly for before and after I get out of the pool).

How long did it take for your bob to grow out?
2b-2c ~~ Fine-Medium Hair ~~ High Porosity ~~ Normal Elasticity
CG AS OF 2/16/10
Now use low-poo....AWESOME RESULTS (switched 3/28/10)

Low-Poo: Giovanni TTT Shampoo
Rinse-Out: GVP Conditioning Balm
Stylers: LA Looks Sport Gel

Current methods: Icequeen Method, then plop for 30 minutes (diffuse if needed)
I'm still growing mine out, since it's still a bob but after about 2 months since my haircut, my bob is now quite a bit past my chin from above chin length. So if you have it cut an inch past chin length. It'll be at Shoulder length I would say

I got my bob about a month ago and i'm really happy with it! Lots of compliments and i don't know anyone with a bob, so it's pretty unique too! I swim daily for a competitive team, and i've found it's MUCH easier to manage in a swimcap, besides the fact that a few strands do fall out now and then. . Like someone mentioned, the only drawback is that i can't pull it back, but i've found some cute ways to pull it back on this site and i'm ready to try them out! Besides, not being able to pull it back forces me to wash it more, and not to leave it in a pony while it's completely chlorinated (which leaves it so dry!) so it's probably for the better!

Pre Co-wash: Coconut oil (plain & rosemary)
Co-wash: Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle or Trader Joe's Nourish Spa
Rinse out: GVP Conditioning Balm
Leave-in/Styling: Moisture Maniac with Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner on top
The greatest glory of an inverted bob is that is pulls back better -- the hair that has the longest way to go is the longest.
