But I had a great time with Thom. He's a lot of fun and gave me a great bob with soft waves. He styled my hair with no products. Just twirled and pinned a few pieces in the front and a couple in the back. It was a cute look. When I style it myself with curl cream or gel and scrunching, I tend to get a tighter curl pattern. It's nice to have options!

Thom combs my hair as he cuts and "plays" with it when he's done. Only time he ever used a product was when he was first trying out the Deva Mr. Right! That was four years ago--and started me on my curly journey. I wet and style when I get home, if I'm going out.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I've known him for a few years longer as a friend. He only became my stylist when I got a bad cut from current stylist, at the time (I'm loyal.)

Either way, I like it!

It does curl up in the front! It does look good, I was just wondering.

I'm in love with my hair! It's so much easier to take care of, though it still takes forever to dry. Any ideas on a different bob look that's not just leaving it down?
Picture of how it looked before, the salon blowout (which lasted all of an hour before it started curling up again : ) and my 2nd day curly hair.
It's a softly inverted bob with highlights.

My bob isn't curly. It used to be but lately I'm lucky to get it to wave. I always used to have straight hair and not as thick hair so I think it is reverting back to that. I mentioned I had some bouts of hair loss last month - I think it's all related. I still like posting here. I have some wave left.

It's a big change. I planned to grow my hair out but if it gets much thinner, no. That pic is my growing-out bob. I'll probably end up going short again in summer. My hair grows super fast. I'd like to try an inverted bob, but do you think it would work with my hair consistency? I think they look best on women with very fine, thin hair....
I have very thick hair and I loved my inverted bob. I kept my hair that way for several years. Now I need at least enough to easily pull up for when I'm training. But I think a good cut should be able to account for hair texture/density.

Corrina, did you wear your hair mostly curly at that length? I hope my hair would curl or tightly wave at a shorter length but I don't think so, seeing how much it has straigtened out. I wish my hair would settle to one or the other - I don't like wavy hair. Again I hate to offend anyone b/c this is a curly hair site, but wavy hair on me just doesn't look right.

I'd definitely want my hair long enough to pull back. Maybe I should not go for that style b/c I'd be afraid they'd cut it too much to wear a ponytail.
I just stumbled across this thread and was surprised at how many of you have bobs! I hate to be a downer since everyone seems to love their bobs but - I HATE mine! I just cut my hair a few days before Halloween so maybe I'm still adjusting, but I do not know what came over me! I thought it would be easier to style -it's not! I had beautiful, looooong red curly hair, omg just thinking about it makes me want to cry. I didn't know how amazing and lucky I was. Now it's way above my chin and neck, I'm not good with measurements but probably have 5 or 6 inches to go to get it shoulder length. Can't put it up, look like a 12 year old (I'm 24) and it takes so much longer to style! Ugh, maybe I'll come around to it but for now I can't even look at pictures from a few months ago when my hair was halfway down my back. So that's my sob story about my curly bob. Am I the only one who longs for length?!

This set me back.

I would like long hair again, but this is what I was saying in the other thread (the trollish one about long hair).... When women get into their 30's, they have new hair issues - grays, thinning out hair. It is much harder for me to grow hair than it was. Damage/dryness occurs from coloring so trims are needed more often... Though I do not think the poster of that thread is much concerned with "older women." She used "young women" and "women in their 20's" interchangably. I got the impression that to her, anyone over 29 need not care about their looks, has permission to wear bobs.
Oh no minthe! That sucks about your trim gone wrong!! it seems like my hair takes forever to grow so I feel your pain about trimming and cutting setting you back. I have decided I'm NEVER cutting my hair again! I will trim to keep it healthy obviously. But I think it's gonna take about 5 years to get it back to the length it was before I cut. Which puts me at 29. Which is the last chance to have beautiful long hair if the other poster is suggesting that after 30 we should all go short!
I just had to chime in to say that I skimmed over this whole thread, and you ladies look awesome with your bobs! You all are ROCKIN' the short curls!! I have never cut my hair above shoulder length, and I don't think I look as good with short hair (been told many times by many people -- even strangers -- never to cut my hair ), but you all are very inspiring! I would totally go short if I could pull it off, but I'm very happy now that I just got layers cut.
