I have had an inverted bob, it looked very good. However, I want to go a bit more drastic this time.

so if you've had an inverted bob before, maybe you could do it before the wedding. if you decide to, just do it sooner so you have time to adjust to your hair and figure out how to wear it.
btw - when i got married, like a hundred years ago, LOL, i also wore my hair down and it myself. i've never liked it when someone else does it. however, there are now some cute curly styles that are like a loose low bun that are cute, i might have done that if i knew about that. in either case, long or short, i'm sure you'll look great!

Ok so I need a little help. I'm not so happy with the shape of my hair.

It shrinks a lot (up to my ears on tighter curl days even though its almost APL) and the layers are disconnected.

I'm just wondering if a good cut can reduce shrinkage. I haven't had it cut since I cut of pre-CG damaged ends and that wasn't a shaping cut at all just a chop.

The up to my ears look isn't good on my face so I'm afraid of cutting it shorter. What to do? Wait it out or get it cut? Is there a way to connect the layers without making it too short?

Salia your hair cut is gorgeous! I have a similar curl pattern to yours. I'd love to rock a style like that but I just don't think I have the face for it

Hi guys! I've got hair woes—I have very dense, thick curls ("botticelli", about a 3B, I believe), and no matter what I do I can't seem to keep it under control. My schedule keeps me from showering as much as I'd like and I constantly wind up with huge knots in my hair, which makes me avoid showering longer so I don't have to deal with it, which encourages more knots... it's a vicious cycle.

I love the look of short hair and I've wanted to try it for years, but I'm very worried about not being able to pull off a bob or something similar like I'm seeing in this thread (everyone posting pictures is so cute!).

Here's an exceptionally boring photo of myself on a bad hair day:

Normally I am more excitable (and wear glasses):

Is short hair something I could do?

Thanks in advance for your help!
I have a long straight hair now, and I'm planning to curl my hair next week.. So excited for this...

I'm overweight and short haircuts make me feel even bigger I'm always paranoid I'd look like a pig in a wig! :s

Ans I'm nervous I'd miss my length! I've gone shorter before but not like that!

(3) I'm scared I'd miss my length, too - and mine is REALLY long right now (if straightened, it can reach my mid-back).

I LOVE the way the inverted bob looks, though. And there's that part of me that says "it'll grow back", too. Plus, I know that since going HG, it grows back much faster than it used to. But, still... I'm not sure. But, yet again, I'm really tempted... SO confusing.. LOL!

If you are scare to do it, try a faux bob for a day! I think there are threads on here about it, and I know I've seen a video or two on YouTube. Might be something that makes you want to go for it and cut it off, or maybe you'll just want to faux bob it when you feel you want a change, then let it down when you want it long again!

You're welcome! I want to try it - it'll give my husband a heart attack, bc he'll think I've cut it! Lol!

It seems really easy, and there are a couple ways to do it.

Good luck!

Thank you!!

My hair feels so much longer now. Miss the shape!! But I want to grow it out for a while.
So I want to get a curly bob but have a few questions.

The first one is about shrinkage. I have LONG hair now. Waist length. Also, it is 3a. I am wondering if cutting it short will cut out the curl.. I have bangs that curl up. So I know some of my hair will curl up short, but I am wondering if I risk having short pieces that won't curl up. I want an asymmetrical bob that starts about at the chin or a little longer then gets shorter in the back.

Maybe all I want is reassurance . But I have had long hair for almost my whole life (I am 20) and I am kind of sick of the length, but love my beautiful curls. I have been wanting to go short now for about 2 years, but have chickened out due to people's comments (looking at you mom and dad).

If any one has a cut similar to what I described and is willing to post pictures I would greatly appreciate it.

Also any advice or wisdom would be appreciated.

You have a lot of curl all the way to the root. If anything, it looks like your hair might get curlier when you cut it. The weight won't pull the curl out.

I didn't use products when my hair was long almost forty years ago, LOL! Our properties are similar (my hair is not longer dense); however, I think your hair is curlier than mine--if that gives you an idea of what your hair might do.

I've gone to the same stylist for 30+ years. He knows how to cut hair. I get a fabulous cut, as does my straight haired aunt. He cuts it wet, but he knows not to "pull" on it, so it comes out right. He does comb it while he cuts, so he pulls out some of the curl. As long as it's a great cut, it will grow in well. If you're stylist is good, you really shouldn't have to tell them anything. They should know what they are doing. You can always discuss your concerns.

If you're leery, you may want to start a little longer and work your way up.
