Thanks! And as soon as I can figure out how to take a decent picture of myself, I'll post it, I promise! Thanks again for the use of your pic - it was a huge help in showing him what I wanted to do with my hair - a pretty big deal considering Carlos and I had never met before.
Aneffigy, your curly bob is adorable!

I am still very much loving my curly bob! I have to confess, I have found a new thing I like about having a bob - straightening it. My hair always looked crappy straight when it was longer. I decided to straighten on a whim a few days ago, and I loved it! I still prefer to wear it curly, however, it is so fun to have another option and be able to switch it up a couple times a week if I want to.

Same here - I didn't like mine straightened at all when it was longer, but when I got this bob my stylist straightened it and it actually looked kinda cute. My DH and son didn't like it at all; they think my hair has more "character" when it's curly.

For me the bob gives me more volume. And somewhat of a style. Even though I am a hair junkie I have no hair styling skills whatsoever. I am always in awe of people who can whip their hair into a style.
And once again, I wish I could use tools so I could straighten occasionally. It would be nice to have a change every 6 months or so.

I agree, my hair always looked ragged when i straightened it long. I love having my hair in a STYLE as well so it's not just hanging there. I love the volume I get and I love how it looks straight. My stylist actually didn't give me a curly cut because I wanted a specific bob which was for straight hair. But she made it work for straight or curly hair and i absolutely love it.
BTW - Anyone in CT looking for a good cut, curly or straight, I HIGHLY recommend Jo Bruno in New Haven.

your bobs and volume
Ok guys, I am itching to get a longer, maybe inverted bob but I am terrified of volume. I am a 2b/c, with hair that will go straighter after the first 2 days, and before CG I had hair that was larger than my shoulders, so I am so afraid of getting a big poofball... anyone with thick hair got a bob and actually had normal volume?

I don't have thick hair, but if it's layered correctly, you shouldn't have an issue. You could also use products that are a little heavier.

I've got thick hair and got a chin-length bob about 4 weeks ago. I have no trouble controlling the volume. I personally just like my hair longer and a little more layered, so I'm letting it grow out, but I'm having no trouble with it volume-wise. Pics are in my fotki.

Your new bob is looking really beautiful--there's just not as much beautiful hair as there used to be, LOL!

I have an inverted bob as well. I really like it although I have been growing it out some for a little while now for a longer bob. Honestly though, my hair is strange because I have tighter curls the longer my hair is and looser when they are shorter. You would think the weight would pull it out more but it doesn't. It gets tighter and wider. So I think I have settled up on trimming it up again to a little shorter and I am just going to change the bangs up for a different look. I have always had bangs in some form or another so I am trying to grow them out now.
An older pic is in my signature

Oh burgundy_locks, I donated my hair to locks of love two years ago. Eleven inches! It felt awesome! That's when I discovered I had curly hair! The length was weighing it down!

what do you people with bobs think about putting it up? how long does it have to be to be able to? what do you do for sports, with & w/o helmets? does anyone have longer inverted bob pics? I have seen micol124s pics, but are there any more like that? what about bobs with bangs?

Even when my hair was as short as in my avatar picture, I was able to put my hair in a pony tail. I had some hair at the nape of my neck that didn't quite reach up that far, but it didn't cause any issues. I ride horses, and when using a helmet I fit as much as I can into a lower pony tail or use a hair net to keep my hair out of my face (geez, I wish I had this bob when I was competing!).
Headbands are also great when you don't want to screw up your curls by putting it in a pony tail. Or to keep shorter strands out of the way when trying for a lower pony tail.

I just went with a chin length bob this past Nov. after about 10 years of long past my bs length. I was so ready for the change as combing out my long hair was always such a pain.
I had it cut shorter in the back but longer in the front and top. This worked out really well for me as I could still pull it back into a little ponytail, or pigtails if I wanted. (haha my son calls it Mickey Mouse hair as its really 2 little puffballs on top )
Right now its down past my chin and i'll be going for another cut soon. After that I think I'll let it grow long again and then re cut and donate to locks of love again.

I just sleep on it normally. Some people like the satin/silk pillowcases to help decrease overnight frizz, but i had to stop using mine because it caused my face to break out. I'm kinda hit or miss on the 2nd day hair because of this. If I'm not thrilled with my hair in the morning, I can usually just pull the hair up on the sides to hide everything that's screwy in the front. I think someone posted a topic about sleeping on shorter hair, look back through the pages on this board and you should be able to find it.
I do a side part, myself and it has worked fine for me. I think I've seen some pics of people with bangs...but don't quote me on that! Look through the pictures on this thread and on the CG before and after. You might be able to see more examples of how people work their bobs!
