Is this a bob, or just short hair? Either way, what are your opinions on this cut? I had a similar cut many years ago, and have longed to have it back.

Do you think it would work for me? I don't like to get any shorter than a good fist's-worth so I have enough for a good ponytail.

I LOVE that haircut! (Not so in love with the fact that her top doesn't fit right but that's just my personal pickyness talking.)
I think that cut would look great on you.

Whoa, now I'm thinking about going for a haircut similar to this. It's super cute and would be so much easier to manage. My hair length when curly is only a few inches longer (depending), but that's a lot of length when we're talking about curly hair That'd mean I would save a little bit of hair product each time, which would add up over time. Hair grows back anyway, so you might've just given me an excellent idea CurliLocks!

Thanks jeep! I love it too, but what's with the wrap across the chest?!
Funky - I think you could totally do that style. It's not much different than your avatar, just bringing up the layers more at the top for fullness. Shall we go for it?
I'm going to take the pic to my stylist and see if she gets how it's cut and can duplicate it. I have tried for many years to get back to a similar style, but no one could duplicate what my wonderful British stylist in Germany could do! It was so easy to take care of, I could diffuse upside down for fullness or airdry down for less fullness, still got a ponytail..... versatile cut.

I got my hair cut yesterday, and the one thing I thought to myself was that I didn't want a bob. Well, that's what I got. The stylist didn't understand what I wanted. But anyway, the cut combined with the color I got (red) makes me look like I am crazy. The roots are way too bright.

Question time!
So, I don't have a bob, but I did get my hair cut really short, with really really short layers haha. I've always had long hair, and would take a shower/apply product at night, throw it up into a high bun, and take it down in the morning. It was so simple/maintrnance free.
But, now that I have short hair, when I put it in a bun & take it out in the morning it just doesn't work. My layers stick out everywhere... suffice to say I need a new routine. I tried pineappling last night, but unfortunately that was a no-go as well.
So, does anyone here style their hair at night? If so, how do you keep your curls in tact until morning? TIA!

This is funny, because I'm thinking about going short again because I'm tired of looking "sexy". I miss that carefree look, as well as that carefree routine. Guys all LOVE long hair, but they all complain about the time it takes for a girl to get ready....

What, exactly, is a bob? How does it differ from "short hair"? If I asked a (competent) stylist to cut my hair in a bob, what would I get? Is it what I call "short but long" hair--chin length or so overall, but no short layers around the face or at the crown?
What is an "inverted" bob? Is it the haircut that is so popular in the straight-haired world right now, the one that is shorter in back and longer on the sides?
I realize that these questions may have been answered somewhere upthread, but it's a long thread, so someone, have mercy on me!

I think I should go to CT for vacation. Your hair looks great, and I would love the versatility of having a cut that looks good either straight or curly.

Curly bob question here. Now that I've jumped on the curly bob bandwagon, I need to know how you all do your makeup if the bob won't let you plop?
I was used to plopping about 10-15 minutes, while I did my face. My new bob does not like this idea.
Is there a way to "get the curls going" and then do your makeup?
