I don't really plop, just wrap my hair in a curlease for a few minutes. It gets it out of my face and soaks up some of the water.

I so wanted to get a bob. The hairstylist wouldn't do it, she said it is out of style. I wasn't about to argur with a lady with scissors so I let her layer it. Everyone says they like it, yet my next haircut will be the bob! YAY!

I have a 3b bob. I hate it. It is always puffy and triangle shaped and has too much volume and I have alot of flyaways at the crown. Please help me.

I'm struggling with my bob too, right now. It's poofy at the bottom, no volume on top, and too much of a triangle right now.

i decided to try a new place and i found it on this site. i couldn't really afford to go to the salon i really wanted to go to so i went someplace a little cheaper. i told the girl i want a cut but be careful because the shorter you cut it the curlier it gets and i didn't want to end up with a bob or a fro. nope i ended up with a bob it feels like there is no hair in the back of my head and it looks retarded when i pull it back in a ponytail because there is barely any hair in the ponytail. i don't know how to work this it's poofed out and frizzy and i'm annoyed.

Stepson is getting married next week, so I went for my haircut/highlight a week early--just in case it didn't respond well. My stylist didn't know why I came in. He thought my hair looked that good. It was a good day, but I felt that I was getting a little "triangular" some days. I actually didn't think he was going to cut it. He just "went over" everything. Have to say--it was perfect from day one. Even better then when I went in. I think he layered the top a little more. Haven't even thought I saw a triangle in the last week.

I remember last year, he really layered for the summer. I suspect that's what you need at this point to get rid of the triangle--flat top, poofy bottom.

I've been having the same results as far as puffy at the bottom/ lookign triangular. i have layers, but the longest layer shrinks up to the length of the shorter layer. i'm trying to use heavier products to weigh down the longer sections and trying to extra scrunch the shorter layer.

My hairstylist told me the same thing the last time I thought I wanted a bob. I really liked what she did instead, but here I am once again thinking I want a bob.

I've always thought of the bob as being a classic style? I think our curly bobs are unique enough in their own right.

Wow that's really surprising. There are tons of people in the spotlight with bobs of all shapes, lengths, and textures. Find a stylist who will give you want you want!

Just thought I'd join in. I have my hair in an inverted bob as well. I absolutely love it. I love this style on straight haired women and I wasn't sure it would work out curly but it seriously is the best style I have ever had. It's currently grown out quite a bit and desperately needs to be cut again but I thought I'd share a pic shortly after it was cut and looking good!

Do you think it would work for me? I don't like to get any shorter than a good fist's-worth so I have enough for a good ponytail.
I have no idea if it's a bob, but I used to have that style (it looks similar now, but the longer layer isn't as short). There are a few pictures in my fotki if you'd like to take a look. I liked it when I first got it cut, but the problem is that one side of my head is curlier than the other... it looks uneven when it starts to grow, since the less curly side eventually looks longer.

My front layers are a little longer now, and so far I haven't noticed this. Of course, this might not be an issue for you anyway...

Default Please help me!

can someone help me? I have thick, 3b and I have a curly bob and as it dries it has too much volume and it is puffy and triangle shaped and it has flyaways everywhere. Should I get layers? If so, what kind of layers? If not, what should I do?
Here's my routine:
-Co-wash and rinse-out with Tigi Catwalk Oatmeal and Honey conditioner.
-When I get out of shower I rake in the same conditioner and rake in Tresemme Bouncy Curls Defining Gel. Then touch up with the gel.

i've read that when you cut your hair more frequently it grows faster. ???? who knows.
also, i have a very vague recollection of something in the curly girl book that lorraine mentioned about getting trims to help the ends open up? that wasn't it, but it was something about it being healthier for the ends.
i think both were saying if you never cut your hair, or only cut it once a year, it will slow down it's growing.
anyone else ever read anything about this?

Is there a way to "get the curls going" and then do your makeup?
I've started clipping! I get out of the shower and do my product routine, squeeze out some water w/ my Diva towel, then clip the top in 3 chunks on top (like in the Curly Girl book). That is enough for me to do my makeup. Most of my hair is out of my face & it's no longer dripping wet. My hair is just to short in the back now for plopping.

... that doesn't make any sense. Hair is dead the moment it grows out of the scalp. Why would cutting the dead part make it grow faster at the scalp? It's more likely that growth is more noticeable when hair is shorter because the ends are easily seen in a mirror, instead of behind your shoulders. Also, longer hair can get stuck on things and and get scrubbed against clothing, which can break of the ends and make it seem like the hair is growing at a slower rate.

I saw your pics, cute!!! I think I found another hair twin! My hair is less curly on the right side. If I can, I convince my stylist to cut that side a tiny bit shorter to compensate. I'm calling my stylist tomorrow for a trim anyway, I'll see if she can get it back to this similar style (she's never cut it that way for my yet).
