gel without PVP or acrylates?

Hi, I have been away for a while and am trying to find a gel to subsitute for a Sebastian gel that is discontinued; it had no PVP or acrylates, just a great gel with good hold and lots of shine; any suggestions?
I thought it was the PVP that provides the hold for gels. I guess there's other ingredients that provides hold too. I don't know.
Wish I could help you there. Maybe someone else can chime in.
That's right, I said it! I wear scrunchies!!

I am a sulfate washing, cone slabbing, curly lovin' s.o.b. The CG police haven't caught me yet.

KCCC works as well as a strong hold gel for me.
Have several allergies and sensitivities.
Current products
Low Poo/Cowash: Rio Grande Herb Co Negrita and Amole Deep Treatment Concentrate, Magick Botanicals (MB) Shampoo (diluted)
Rinse out/Leave in: MB with apricot kernel and jojoba oils added
Protein Treatment: MB Conditioner for Thinning Hair, IAgirl's protien treatment
Style: MB Gel mixed with LOTD Aloe Vera Gelly

2b-c, need lots of moisture, likes protein in moderation.
I second the vote for KCCC. I've also heard good things about the Aubrey Organics' gels.
Loose botticelli curls and waves
No silicones/no sulfates since March 2008
I love what PVP does for my hair but hate it clogging my hair follicles and coating my scalp! I am curious, why do you avoid it? I am going to try the KCCC next. Right now I use Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic; it gives me a little hold, lots of volume and bounce and will always keep a bottle of it around. I hear the B5 Design gel has more hold but I didn't notice; I will have to try it again.
Type: 3a, fine, thin, low porosity Water/Climate: soft/ marine Washes: water w/washcloth, shikakai, clay Condition: Style:Seamollient, CurlsPFCCP, Miracurl, Gel-les'c, CK; rudeechick's super soaker method; blot, air dry 30 min; diffuse
You might want to check the Max Green Alchemy line. They have two gels: a light and a strong
