Default A Plead To People Who Use Boots / My Boots Experimentation. (UPDATED Pictures)

I ordered Pink Boots, after I heard good things about it. I waited 2 weeks and it came yesterday. I used my leave in Suave Naturals, Boots, KCCC, and then HETT, and its horrible . Without Boots I get volume and minimal frizz and it looks good. With boots my hair is flat and I have a TON of frizz. What am i doing wrong . This is the 2nd day my hair has turned out like this with Boots.

Without Boots:

With Boots:

Any advice?

I have read that link before. I only was using Suave as my Leave - In, Boots, KCCC, and HETT. I also applied it the way Sage says to, but its not giving me clumps, and its making me friiz uncontrollably, plus I get no volume like I said. Plus I barely use any products. I put my KCCC and HETT on really lightly.

Thanks for trying ladies.

Ladies, thanks for the referral to my blog! I'm really happy that the post helped you.

That's an awful lot of products you're using, CurlyCara! Why so many? No wonder your hair came out flatter than you'd like!

Do you have any gels you could use over Boots? Some people have had good results using KCCC with Boots -- I have not, though. I don't get bad results, just nothing special.

So, I vote you cut something out: the mousse or the KCCC. Or cut them both out and use gel over the Boots instead.

That looks like my hair when I first started using Boots and I was using way too much. I really only need to dip your finger in the pot then emulsify it in slightly damp hands and that was with longer hair. It also seems like you're using quite a lot of products because its really easy to get weighed down with Boots if you don't know how much to use.

Otherwise, maybe its just not for you. Different products work for different people, for example, I can't get Aloe Vera gel or honey to do anything good for my hair yet lots of people here swear by them. Your hair is beautiful anyway, and I don't really think you need another product.

I was going to say the exact same thing. I would think a leave-in and then a little gel on top of the Boots would be more than enough. The Boots has a bit of hold on its own, as well as curl enhancement, so you should only need a little gel on top to give you whatever amount of hold you need.

I use a little dollop of Boots cream with some gel over the top. Too much cream can make my hair stringy and gross feeling (like it's coated).

To give you a rough idea of how much cream I use, my last tub lasted me 11 months and I use it every time I wash which is every other day and my hair is below shoulders.

Ok ladies I think Ill give up the KCCC, and just put my HETT gel over top and see what it gives me. We are having a nasty snow storm today so it may not be until tomorrow, but I will update with new pictures. Thanks for all the advice.

I think some were mixing Kccc & Boots you could try that?? Also CK underneath if your dews are higher helps tremendously with Frizz. I actually used it yesterday our humidity was in the 50's and dews were about 39 and my hair liked it

Your hair is DIE for!!! Even with the little bit of frizz it's still stunning

First, I can't use Suave Naturals, especially the coconut, as a rinse-out, let alone as a leave-in, without a lot of frizz. I don't do well using regular conditioner of any kind as a leave-in. Just a touch of KBB glycerin-free milk or GDLI when I use one at all.

I tried mixing Boot's and KCCC per Mimsie's recommendation, I think. Didn't work well for me. I do better layering it with just a touch of Boot's (3 fingertips barely dipped) first, 3 fingers lightly dipped 2-3 times in KCCC then topped with a little BRHG, maybe a dime's worth.

I can't use much Boot's anytime with whatever products without it looking greasy, so I usually use little to no leave-in with it. I still usually start with my beloved AVG, though.

I also like Boot's with just LA Looks Sports Gel on top. I use maybe two of my light dips of it this way with about a quarter's worth of the gel.

When considering amounts, keep in mind that my hair is barely shoulder length right now. Looks like we have maybe a similar degree of curl.

I'm still experimenting with my Boots too. My hair is frizzy by nature. Yesterday I did my GVP leave-in then Boots, then KCCC=average results. Today I did my GVP leave-in then Boots (about 2 nickel sizes, one for each side of my head and I rake through) then Fantasia IC gel and my hair is amazingly clumpy and shiney.

I think the trick is to just find what works for you. KCCC didn't work with the Boots for me but just try changing one thing at a time so you will know when you get it right.

PS - I agree with Del, your hair is gorgeous in ALL the pictures.

Thanks all. Jess The Mess sent me Lustrasilk Shea Mango, and I'm going to try this as a DT today. Then, I think I'm going to try the Boots and my HETT, and then tomorrow I'll do Boots and KCCC. Also I LOVE my Suave, but I do have a bit of frizz and that may be my natural hair, but I may see if It's the Suave. Also I have LOTD Aloe Vera 99% Gelly, but it just seems like it doesn't do anything for me.

Honestly it brought me to some tears. Jess the Mess and I have been talking alot, shes basically my best friend. Well she knows that me and my boy friend have been having some hard times. She said she would send me her Lustrasilk Mango as she didnt want it anymore. She sent it a week ago and it actually arrived yesterday, today I opened the box, and inside was not only a Bonus Size barely used Lustrasilk, but she also included 2 Brand new Curls Like Us Towels, that she knows Ive been talking myself out of, because I cant afford them. It was a huge suprise, and it brought me to tears, and I jsut wanted to say that I care about you all very much and I think its great Ive found friends like this that care about me too. Thank you all for your super kind words, and kind hearts.

Love CurlyCara
