How to not weigh your hair down with products??
I have recently had an issue with dryness and frizz, and i found that putting in more leave-in and KY and mousee/gel helped with the dryness/frizzies, but insanely weighed my hair down.
My hair is really short and 3Bish maybe more curlier/less curlier...i used to have a lot of volume and now its just flat...it's a bit longer than in the picture and tends to be flatter.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Usually there is a learning curve with how much product to use. Why not try using just a little less product than you did when you got weighed down, and see if that takes care of it?
If my hair is frizzy due to dryness, I mix my regular leave-in condish with a dab of a heavier moisturizing condish, and it perks my curls right up! I could never leave in the heaver condish on its own, it would be much too rich and heavy for my hair.
Also, concentrate product application to the hair shaft and ends; too much product at the roots will definitely weigh you down.
Hope that helps at least somewhat.

Hi. I don't put any product on the roots. Seems to give me better root volume. My hair's fine, non porous (so product just sits on top of it), and very curly (I guess you'd say 3b, though I don't think those categories mean much). Getting weighed down is a major issue for me. Too much product (which is almost none at all)=greasy, flat hair. Too little product=great curl with frizz. Less product is always better for me for not getting weighed down - more than a dime sized amount makes me really oily. Rinsing upside down and finishing with cool water helps too. Still experimenting with types of product and when to put it in. Soaking wet seems best, but then my hair takes *hours* to dry (it's that nonporous thing). It's all an ongoing experiment...

Hey CurlyGirly21 - one other thing maybe to try if you're easily weighed down. I'm recently rediscovering that I have better luck applying product when my hair is dry. It's weird but true.
When I wash it I scrunch in a *tiny* amount of leave in (dime sized) while my head is upside down. You might be able to use more, as your hair sounds a bit drier than mine. No product on the roots!
When my hair is completely dry it will be a little frizzy but not too bad. Then I very gently rake in some thick, medium to hard-hold, non-slippery gel (glycerin, oils, cones quickly make me weighed down). I use the FX Special Effects Fixative Gel. Try a little bit at a time and select individual curls to run the gel over. My hair can take a pretty giant blob of gel when it's dry. I still have good volume at the roots, and the frizz magically goes away. It can be little crunchy, but you can break that up by gently scrunching.
The next day I can re-wet with a spray bottle and it still looks pretty good (2nd day hair is never all that great for me, but this is surprisingly good).
Hey, worth a try, right?

I can't use CK or KY at all without getting too weighed down, regardless of amount or combination with other products. It just makes my hair lank, limp and flat. You might consider leaving it off and trying some other things instead.
ETA: Also, I don't know which HE products you're using, but HETT gel and mousse also make my hair limp and flat with sticky stringlets, regardless of amount.
