I'm Thinking About Getting Extensions...

After my Ouidad haircut, the bottom part of my hair is so thin. I've thought about cutting it off, but that would mean about 4 to 6 inches & I really don't want to go that short. A friend of mine has thin hair also & got extensions over a year ago. They look awesome. She has them redone every 4 months. Her hairdresser only charges her $160 each time & that includes the hair. She uses real hair. If I do it, I will make sure it matches my waves & I will probably go longer. Does anyone here have them or has had them?

To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."
i want some too! my last haircut was much too short, and all i want to do is be able to pull all of my hair back and ignore it. extensions would be awesome, but i don't think i can afford them (here in san francisco, everthing is soooo expensive). go for it - and post pictures if you do...
-Porosity an ongoing mystery, fine texture
-Hair likes: light conditioners and light protein, light cones
-Hair dislikes: oils, heavy conditioners, and glycerin

-Co-wash/conditioner: Elucence Moisture
-DPT (rarely): Ion Effective Care
-Styling products: Elucence as a leave-in and (cone alert) Giovanni Frizz Be Gone
I've been saving, so hopefully I can have it done this month. I figure it will cost me $40 a month, if I have it done every 4 months. This woman is so reasonable. I'll definitely post pics.

I've had extensions, both synthetic and real hair. For ... um ... 10 years? I only had streaks - not full heads of hair - and I loved them. My hair has never liked being washed, and it's fine and thin. So it was ideal that I could wash my hair, blow it dry/flat iron it, and then simply Not Have To Deal With It for several days. I really loved that part. They're not for the tender-headed or for those who need to feel a brush on their scalp.

But the cost was getting to me, and so many people like my curly hair that I've decided to be curly for at least the full 2009 year. We'll see where it goes from there.

Here's a picture from last year, just for kicks:

Gone 'girly. Last 'poo 10/18/08
Current experiment is Co-Wash and Condition: V05 kiwi lime clarifying conditioner
Then KBB super silky, KCCC, then L'Oreal Melting Gel with a bit of GF Super Stiff mixed in.
Pre-toweling, post-toweling, pre-plop and post-plop. The jury is not out on the plopping thing. I think my hair is too fine.
fine / non-porous / thin aka 3"abba" / oh so Fine / just barely ii
I've decided to have the extra length cut off before the extensions. My ends will still be thin, no matter how much time passes. I'll just have the extensions until I get the length back that I like. I am so upset with the hair stylist. I can't believe how much money I was out for this awful haircut & hair color. The hair color turned out an awful red once it was coming out. I would say too much perozide.

There are (arguably) too many pictures of my hair going through the first few CG months here:

As you can see from the first pix, the natural hair extensions I was using that are defined "curly" are nowhere near as curly as my hair. When I stopped using a flat iron it was clear that they had to come out =\ If I could have found 3a/b extensions I would still have pink in my hair in a heartbeat! Where do you find/get curlier extensions?

My hair is thin and fine (see the "wet" pictures in the album), it is also extremely UN-porous.

Twins??

Close twins, but I think your hair has more curl then mine.
