Default a little help please.....

Okay, I need to color my hair today and yesterday I water washed and use a rinse out. My question is I need to hit the shower, should I avoid wetting my hair at all costs, or if I wet it would that be considered a wash? I was just thinking they say you shouldn't color your hair within 24(or was it 48?) hours after washing.

Thanx!

I'm not an expert, but I've been coloring my hair every 4-6 weeks for 8 years and as far as I know, wetting your hair doesn't count as a wash. The point of the advice to avoid shampooing before coloring is that coloring can be very damaging and the natural oils in your hair add some protection during the coloring process. This is why super clean hair isn't so great to color. So long as you allow it to dry (if that's what the dye calls for) before coloring, you should be ok. Just remember to seriously condition afterwards.

Perhaps a professional will chime in, but in the meantime I hope that helps.
