Unhappy Is everyone protein-sensitive?

I recently started using the GC method. I been co-washing with Suave Naturals and my hair gets very very tangled and dry. Yesterday I bought another conditioner Vo5 Moisture milks and the moment i used it the tangles were gone , I could run my fingers through my hair without worries. Does this mean my hair prefers proteins or those this happen to everyone the first time they use a product that has proteins?. How do you know when your hair is protein sensitive or not? Please help I am soo clueless I dont want to start on the wrong foot , i am a newbie.

It may not be protein but not enough moisture or you have buildup. Did you clarify first to get rid of any possible buildup?

I use suave too, personally my hair loves protein and since most of the naturals ones don't contain it they just aren't enough moisture for my hair. So I follow up the co wash(any suave) with the coconut one as a rinse out and a bit as a leave-in. Works great.

This was discussed a while back. Here's the thread Yes, You Do Need Protein
It basically suggests using protein, then eliminating or significantly reducing it pnly if you discover that you're protein-sensitive.
