Default Hair mascara for root touchups?

Does anyone use these or have any recs on this kind of product? I just don't have time to do my color this week, and I have a few meetings and interviews and would rather not have the gray at the temples. It mostly shows when I put my hair up or in a half-up, which is what I'll probably do for these meetings. I've seen some of these at Sally's. If you use these, any tips or tricks for using them would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have totally done this. I bought brown mascara instead of black one time. Now if I'm parted the wrong way and I haven't coloured in a while, I'll often use the mascara to do a partial covering.

I don't have specific product recs. I just use the accident one which happens to be Maybelline Great Lash.

Whatsercurl, I just posted a question to you in your HESMU thread, then found you'd posted to me here! : )
So do you mean you've used regular *eye* mascara on your hair?? I was actually referring to these products that are actually made for root touchups that they call hair mascara! I guess the regular kind might work about as well, but I couldn't use the ones I have at home, wrong color, so I may as well try the hair stuff. Glad to hear it has worked for you, though. I will probably go to Sally's and pick one up.

Yep just the plain ol' eye ones. Never checked for cones. Wonder if they're CG.

It's probably a couple times a month thing at the end of a colouring cycle anyway, so I should be able to stay off the poo.

Hmm. Thank you. Interesting. I wish I had some brown mascara so I wouldn't have to buy one just for my hair. I bet they hair ones are the same thing but more $$. Glad to hear it works OK; I'm so lazy about doing the root touch-ups, I drag it out until I can't stand it anymore.

I may be! I'm a 2-something naturally, although I've been perming the canopy for about ten months. Not sure if I'll continue.

FYI, Eilonwy wanted to know if I took her avatar. I guess hers is a close up of a tapir (All this time I thought it was a baby camel!).

I thought it was someone's MIL. I have a few highlight color mascaras that I used to use inbetween colors. They worked great.

LOL, Speckla! Too funny! I also thought it was a camel's nose.

Are your mascaras made for hair, or just eye mascara? If hair, what brand/where from? Any tips for applying?

I (and my tapir) thank you all!

Hair mascaras. I have some in golden, brown, and reddish colors (they matched the highlights I used to have). I'm not sure of the brand but I bought them at Sally's for like $3.99 each.
