Tell us your successful product combinations
After having great hair with such an unlikely combo, I thought it would be worth starting a thread on the subject. Share some of the product combinations you've had success with and how you used them.
It was cold, raining and really windy when I tried this combo. I couldn't believe the results I got with it - despite being out in the weather.
- Afro Detangler
- CCSS
- MGA Sculpting Gel
- KCCC Spiral Spritz
- I used my Denman to distribute the Afro Detangler.
- Finger combed the CCSS with my head tipped over and then again standing up.
- Plopped using a Curlease towel
- Scrunched in some MGA gel
- Clipped
- Scrunched in a dime's worth of Spiral Spritz (used it as I would a serum)
- Diffused
I had amazing curls - without any frizz ... and second day hair !!!

I am actually experimenting right now (what else is new, I know!) with trying out different combos based on the dewpoint. If and when I ever get some favorite combos down, I'll post and also plan to put them in my siggie. Of course, when the dewpoint goes from the 50's yesterday down to the teens today, it's not making it easy!!!

I've had the best of luck with the same combination of products/routine from the dead of winter into these warm days of spring. I co-wash with the giovanni tea tree conditioner, condition with the oatmeal and honey conditioner, use my conditioning balm as a leave-in, and put about a dime size amount of HEBE gel on top. I scrunch out the crunch with the nourish and shine. I'm on 3rd day hair today.

Get this. HE Set me up gel under boots. Yep, I said it - under boots. I was too impatient and did it backwards but it seemed to work.

Recoil/ KCCC on top I did this backwards the other day and results weren't as spirally but it still worked and got 2nd day anyway.
CK/Alagio/BRHG-my newest experiment and it wasn't a DUD
LOOC/BOOTS/BRHG-I used this in very low dews but not sure how it will work now in the 40's, will have to try again.
Komaza Coco Pudding/Recoil-The moisture from Komaza keeps the Mag Sulph at bay!

CurlyClaudia, your hair looks amazing! Such clumpy, shiny curls that they almost look unreal (but in a good way).

CLI, CK and SMU - favourite combo to date. SMU scrunches out completely soft and of course CK keeps the frizz at bay.
*guano* xcptnl - your hair is getting long. Pretty pretty.

I condition with herbal essences totally twisted, then I rinse out. Then when my hair is still soaking I put in a pea sized amount (or more depending on the weather) of the same condish. Then I rake through redken ringlet 07 and twist my hair into clumps. Then I add more ringlet and scrunch w/ a t-shirt, then I plop. Finally, after 15-20 min I take out the plop and scrunch some more w/ ringlet! It's actually a lot shorter than it sounds, I just described in great detail! Oh, then I air dry the rest.

Tried new stuff today.
JC low poo
Loreal condish (used some as leave in)
and a new gel I can't remember the name of...some kind of spike hold or something...
Little impressed. Wondering if it is the low poo, leaving condish in, or the new gel...
More experimenting I guess...

FrizzBgone and LisaF1163, I am totally going to try your combos! (Although, Lisa, I am not going to use ArcAngell -- I will just use a soft-holding gel. I've been using BRHG in my KCCC but some days, it doesn't give me the clumpage I desire. I think something softer would do the trick.)
My favorite combo of all time is any leave-in, Boots, and then a mix of BRHG and TheraNeem Leaf and Aloe. I love the way my hair looks with this combo (soft yet clumpy) -- but it's only good in slightly warmer weather, for some reason. Usually I go by dew point, but this one seems a little dependent on heat rather than moisture. Go figure.

With the higher dew points lately, I am able to use some glycerin again. I'm having great luck with a KCKT as a leave in, Jessicurl Gelebration Spray, topped off with BRHG. So far so good.

Tried your combo today, except used Jessicurl RR instead of Gelebration -- came out really well, except I really messed up my clipping job this morning so the top of my head looked pretty funky and messed up the overall look. Oh well, next time....................................

My favorite combo right now: KBB milk, DM Coco Curly Butter, AOMM--scrunch, clip and air dry for as long as possible. Good hold, great curls, little to no frizz! Woo hoo!

I will ditto on LisaF1163's combo. Tried it the other day with good results. A good way to get the hold I need with the two combined and my hair loves both KCC and Deva gels. I just don't get the hold I need from either angell or arcangell.

I used the same combo again yesterday ... Amazing hair, even 2nd day.
I suspect it is the Afro Detangler that is the foundation for this combo. The only other thing I've added that it out of the norm is the KCCC SS - scrunched in last (before diffusing).
Even my lazy left side gets boingy curls.
Whatever the reason .. I'm loving it!!
Jillipoo what is TheraNeem Leaf and Aloe? Is it a gel, or a homemade blend that you've made?
I admire all you gals who make your own stuff, but I struggle trying to get lunches made the next day ... homemade hair products aren't in my future

Me? Make a homemade concoction? Have you lost your mind?? (I actually did make flax seed gel once but then was too lazy to get it out of the fridge to use it.)
TheraNeem Leaf and Aloe came to my attention through the lovely and talented Suburbanbushbabe. It's mostly aloe vera gel, but it also contains a bit of carbomer (for hold) and a water extract of neem leaf. On its own, it holds a teeny bit better than aloe vera gel but for most of us, not enough to use on its own. It's a great diluter, I've found.
And I just ordered some Afro Detangler.
