I'm sorry I didn't see this question before. I have no idea what the dews are in my area right now. I know I should probably be paying attention. Here in Fla. I'm not sure how much it fluctuates, but I know from here on out it's only going to get hotter and more humid. I'll look into this more.

Have no fear my dear.......It isn't sticky once it's diluted with water. Just start small, a drop in your condish that's what I did and noticed such an improvement that I started adding more and more. Even still 1t isn't much when you're diluting it with a whole cup of water for a rinse. Go on try it! Just check your dews first

I suggest you try the honey rinse first. It's so dilluted you wont get sticky, I promise

Thanks guys. You are so helpful and smart! I will try it this weekend...if I can be ballsy enough. Should I notice a difference right after the first rinse??

I think its just going to depend on your hair. Experimenting has been the fun part for me. I think I try most of my new products on the weekend or if I have a day off of work. If one thing didn't work I just tried something else.

I just wanted to say thank you and bump this thread up because I tried honey today and I LOVE IT!!!!
My hair was super curly from root to end, and although it wasn't my best hair day ever (I'm at home and the water has a lot of minerals in it, which generally guarantees a soft, undefined curl day; my better products are at school; I SOTC'd too soon because I was running to work; today I tried scrunching a bit with a t-shirt to dry it faster and I had a little frizz because I did it wrong; and, finally, I only did a rinse out because I co-poo'd yesterday, and I'm sure my hair is suffering a little bit after the 'poo) the curl was great. I'm so excited to try it at school!
I mixed a drop with a rinse-out (LVPNG) and then I mixed a drop with my leave in (also LVPNG because it's all I have here) and then I just scrunched in some LA Looks Super Hold Gel because it was the first hot day here in a while and I haven't experimented with warm weather yet.
Thank you thank you thank you for introducing me to honey!!!

I too tried honey today...just the rinse out. It was curly, and my DH says it seemed a little softer. It was pouring rain all day and the dew point was pretty high and I had barely any frizz! Is that a benefit? I am assuming it is, but I have read TOOOO many threads today and don't remember. Either way, I am excited to try it in my leave in but still scared!! Thanks though, I didn't have any BAD effects so that's good! Do I just add a drop to the condish? Thanks again!!

Yep. A drop. You can experiment with the amount of course (although I probably wouldn't overdo it).
I use a squirt with my cup of water.
I love sucess stories! They make me so happy!!!
I have been having extra super curls! I really have to say that I love honey and the many ways to use it. I plan on experimenting with as many different method because i'm very interested in how it works with my hair.

Wecome Home Honey
Ok Honey girls. My dews were low 40's and humidity not even 30% but the air is very warm 77 degrees. I used my honey rinse today for the 1st time since Sept! It's good!! So if you're waiting for 50 to be the magic number you may want to experiment...
Update: I did have to SOTC a little bit with some pomade had a little frizz but it may have been my over-vigorous scrunching with CLU towel..Still very pleased!!

Ok, I have a couple questions... first - using it in your rinse out: does this really do anything? I mean, aren't you just rinsing it out? I'd like to try it in my rinse out as a trial but I'm kinda worried that it won't give me an idea of what it can do if I'm just rinsing it right out.
Second, with your leave in: how much can you add to your leave in with out it getting sticky? Do you just use a teeny tiny little drop or can you use more? Can you use like a 50/50 mix or is that too much?
Third - and most silly question: is this going to attract bees if I'm outside? I hate bees. Well, I hate getting stung by bees. If I use honey am I going to be a bee magnet?

Ok. Let's see:
1- I started with a rinse because if my trepidation. To make sure I was keeping as much in, I would slowly pour it and axeunch it in, then I pile all my hair on top if my head and clip it. I put my towel as a sort of headband. I put everything else on as usual. I definitely noticed a difference with just rinse. (I put a pretty good squirt of honey in my rinse)
2- I only use a small squirt (just over a drop) and my LI to my last smooth over of LI. I only use a little LI and smooth everything into my hair. Then I style as usual. Again, it has become that much better. I don't know what the max is terms of too much honey, but 50/50 sounds high.
3- I eat my lunch next to a bush that is pollinated by bees (I sit in my car with the windows down) and I haven't noticed any unusal interest from the bees. I think that my other products must do enough to turn them off.
Good luck with honey! Let us know how it goes and how you used it!

looks like curlymix answered your LI/Bees question so I'll tackle this one. The first time I used Honey was in my rinse out. The change was so dramatic that I proceeded to go on a Honey craze and tried a Rinse and put it in my Gel. If you think about it tinah there are lots of commercial natural products that use honey in conditioners and stylers, there's a reason for it! Honey is amazing!!

Del2C or anybody else who might be able to answer this, I used honey in a DT last week, and I loved it. But I have a question, I have heard that honey bleaches when used in the long run. I know they use it in skin brightening treatments etc. I was wondering if you noticed any changes or knew anything about it?
I hope it doesn't make a difference, I really like, but I also like my hair black and I don't want the colour to change.
Thanks in Advance .....

Sooooo... I was reading this thread all last week and decided to give it a go.
Tried it mixed with my conditioner first, and while I liked it, I didnt get the best hair day cos it was windy and rainy etc (who invented wind anyway?!).
But then the next day, I tried it mixed with water and poured it over my head and used it as a leave-in. Only then I fell asleep on the couch, so I had a funny flat patch on one side! But boy was my hair soft! And the curls were so defined!
But now today, I did the same, but added some gel, and didnt fall asleep on the couch! But my hair is kinda sticky, almost like I cant scrunch out the gel crunch?
Does honey not go well with gel? Should I ahve used some conditioner as a leave in too? Or a curl creme or something before the gel?
I soooo want to be a honey lover!

I've been adjusting my gel use since I started using honey after my shower. I was feeling that way too... like to kept the curls almost too defined.
I have been mixing a small amount of my usual KCCC with some DM coco curl creme. The results are much better.
I'd suggest either just cutting down or maybe mixing your gel with a LI or a curl creme.
...or maybe mix the honey with this stuff.....
......... a new thing to try.........

If I had great black hair, I'd hate to have it lighten too. Jealous!
Honey is supposed to lighten but I haven't found this to be the case so far.
If I don't use a flash on my pictures, I can see that my hair hasn't lightened at all. It looks really dark. Usually my tips are light brown (pre CG at least), but I still have dark brown hair everywhere.
Del, have you noticed any lightening of your hair?
