3a-b's who are easily weighed down

I recently had the epiphany that I am using too much product and that my hair prefers less. I've always felt like my hair needed a lot of moisture and product but now that I mostly co-wash I think that moisture is not the issue it used to be for me.

I like the volume that I get from using less of my products but now I'm wondering whether the actual products I'm choosing are too heavy for my hair. Some particular ones that feel too gooky on me are SheaM and Giovanni DLI, and any curl cream unless I just use a little.

So just wondering what the easily-weighed-down use on their hair and what you've found to be too much. Is there anything else you do in your routine that you do because of this trait? And how do you combat frizz?

Mostly CG, but I love me some amodimethicone.

Cleanse: V05 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner; CJ Hibiscus Bliss low poo; LLL Green Tea Cleanse
Rinse-Out: Kenra moisturizing conditioner, Redken All Soft (old formula), LVPNG, LVPHG
Leave-In
: Agave nectar plus Sebastian Potion 9 or Aloeba
Style: Dab of QCCC, Re:Coil or Mop-C under BRHG/HESMU combo

i really like using mouse, i still use alot for the frizz, but if you diffuse while its soaking wet to maybe dampish youll still get the volume without the frizz. works very well for me, i also use dove free movement hairspray for hold with stifness or weight. hopefully that can help you

I think it depends on your hairs porosity. I am fine haired with low porosity. I can use heavy products, but minute amounts. Otherwise, I get great curls, but they are weighted down. Looks like I use a lot of products that are much heavier then yours. I can't use Shea M, it makes my scalp burn. I used GDLI last summer, but quit in Oct--it wasn't moisturizing enough. My hair really likes the more natural products.

I've started to combat frizz by handling my hair as little as possible after I apply products. I'm experimenting with Curls Gel-les'c and Kinky Curly Spiral Spritz--two more natural serums.

After six months of cowashing, I switched to cleansing with natural soap bars. My hair likes it much better--tighter curls and more volume throughout the cold, dry winter.

I've actually been having trouble lately, with feeling like my hair is weighted down...i have 3A hair. I'd been using CN (before the ingredient switch) for about 8 months, using KBB hair milk as a rinse out, and the hair oil as a DT, and the KBB hair butter as my styling product on wet hair...but now, my hair is kind of limp, i feel like it's too much for my hair :-/

So I've switched to using the giovani triple treat shampoo, which is nice, and i'm gonna try the shampoo bars, but besides that, i'm not sure what to do for my hair, when I leave it sans product it SUPER frizzy! I look like a chia pet. I was thinking of trying the KBB hair cream.

Does anyone have any ideas what to use that will "define" my curls, but not weigh it down?
Remember that the weather is changing--at least in the NE. Some days we have average dew points and suddenly, it'd cold and dry again. It really makes it hard to know what to do.

i really hate this weather fluctuation, it's not just wreaking havoc on my hair, but it's also messing with my allergies! Meh!
You're not the only allergy sufferer, in SE MN I've been having problems too. I also had problems with products I liked at first being too heavy, I tried the kccc and really like it, and you (if your hair is fine) only need to use very little. The Curls Like Us towels work great for definition without frizz.
very fine 2a/3a, normal porosity & elasticity, finally going full CG!
currently using: nbd F&S Therapy,Curl Magic, Chamomile Seaweed gel, Curl Magic cleansing conditioner, and Restoration Hair Repair.
I'm sorry to hear about your allergies, I definitely feel your pain! It's definitely no fun at all. I'll have to give the kccc a try, everyone seems to love it. I just picked up some LOOB today and some SMU mousse, so i'm excited to try them I hope your allergies feel better!
Thanks for the tips - I've been without internet for a few days so just getting back to reading this thread...

I'm going to give mousse a try as soon as I can get my hands on some.

Would like to try soap bars too... do you always have to do an ACV rinse after using them? My hair loves ACV rinses but the most I manage them is once a month or so.
