Falling Curls
I have been doing CG since last October and am still figuring it out. My hair is 2C (ish) when styled and extremely fine.
My problem is that the curls fall out within hours. My hair is so fine that it doesn't hold the curls very well. Even a few hours after styling, the curls have gone much straighter there isn't much I can do other than starting over.
I have been styling with Knot Today, KCCC, BRHG, and then I scrunch on the Giovanni LA Natural Styling Gel once dried until crunch is gone.
Does anyone have any advice on how to make the curls stay??

My hair is very fine, too. I stopped using gel when I went with more natural products last Sept--had to add it this winter because the cold, dry weather pulled them out. Since you're using products with a lot of hold, I'm thinking moisture??? I don't use KCKT because it's not moisturizing enough for me. You don't say what you do for cleansing. I found that natural soap bars, instead of cowash, tightened my curls and added volume.
The other thing is diffusing or the hard bonnet dryer that's being talked about to set the curls better?
Those are my ideas. I'll be interested in what advice you get.

thanks! I would have never thought about moisture being an issue.
I know nothing about soap bars! I have been using a co-wash conditioner- right now it's been the Trader Joe's Tea Tree Jingle.
And diffusing.

Maybe omit the LA Natural gel? On me, putting wet gel on over it would undo the hold I got from BRHG. I scrunch it out dry usually, only using the tiniest smidge of KBB hair cream or JCNS - nothing wet - if I simply can't get it to scrunch out dry. If I've used a leave-in under BRHG, I usually don't need anything, though.

My hair is fine and low porosity. The Trader Joe's conditioners I used last year did nothing for me.
Here's a tread about the soap/shampoo bars.

My curls tend to fall and lose definition if I've over-conditioned or have used super-moisturizing conditioners, treatments or styling products.
Just my two cents.

I was doing that to ADD more hold and elminate a bit more frizz, but maybe it doesn't work?

I was using the gel with the intention of elimiating a tad more frizz and bringing more hold in, but you think it doesn't do that?

No, not on dry hair, which I assumed yours was since you were using it to SOTC.
