Smile Product advice please :)

Hi there!

I am new here and was wondering whether anyone has any advice, as you all seem to know your products so well. I would say my hair is about a 3a, with bits of 3b underneath. I usually get great curls underneath, but my hair is a poofy frizzy mess on the top layers.

Anyway, I live out of the US and shipping is expensive for me from CM, so I was wondering what products to buy as the shipping goes up the more I buy.

I have read great reviews on products but can't try them all. So can anyone help me pick out products? I'm also going to order some Karen's Body Beautiful nectar and milk to try, and I am going to get Giovanni direct leave in.

What else do I need? Like a curl cream, gel etc? I was thinking of getting
KCCC,
maybe the kinky leave-in
the CJ coco curly coffee cream stuff
MOP C curl cream
or
Recoil

Which would be best to start off with, and what order do you put the products in?

Oh and I can also get joico joiwhip here, and i was thinking of getting biolage balm for conditioner?

Sorry for it being so long!
Thanks if anyone can help

Depending on where you are, you could check the swap boards, the Euro swap board f.e. has a list of CG-compatible products in the UK - and so far I've been managing quite well with the non-US alternatives.

Hi. i am pretty new and stopped being cg for like, A WEEK bc i wasnt getting the results i was hoping for. I am pretty 3a - 3b and have been getting stingy curls because my hair is overly dried and has some heat damaged. I did a poo wash, followed by a soap bar (from KM) and I was recommended AOHR for hydration. I finally tried it last night, along with some honey and a honey rinse- something i had never done. I left some of the honey and applied a teenie bit more of AOHR and FOTE AVG followed by some KCCC and did and over night plopped. Today my hair is clumpy and it is the BEST result i have had so far. I recommend the KCCC for 3a- b hair,a nd if you can get some AOHR, i think it is worth it. trust me, i have the poofiest hair EVER! And its thick and coarse. I'm sure others will chime in. my avatar is today's result and here are a couple more pics http://public.fotki.com/sunshiine537...fote-avg-kccc/.

GL!

I think the Biolage cond. balm is a good choice. A great cond. can make all the difference. I have thick dry 3bish hair and I really like GVP cond. balm which is the knock-off of Biolage cond. balm. It's very thick and moisturizing.
I tried Re:Coil before without much luck. I honestly couldn't tell it made any difference in my hair at all. But I think I'm the minority on that. Others have had great luck.
Right now I am obsessed with the IceQueen Method. I love it and I recommend it to every one. If I follow that routine all I really need besides loads of cond. is gel. HTH

Thanks for the advice!

I live in New Zealand and it is Autumn here, so starting to get a bit colder.

CurlyRae:
I think I might try the Biolage Condish as I don't live in the US so can't get the knockoff one. I shall look up the Icequeen method as well

burgundy_locks:
Thanks, I might get KCCC first and see how that works.. hopefully it will for me!

ural0000-
I will check out the swap boards, but I doubt they will ship to NZ but thanks anyway

egyptiancurls89-
I have read that KBB makes your hair super soft so hopefully I can try it

Thanks everyone for the advice!
