I agree the acronyms are really hard... and like someone else said, it's hard to flippin' back and fourth to figure what something means. I appreciate you all spelling it out in the beginning of your thread. I also hate that there is no spell check.

Evening sweets!!!

I must say, I was TOTALLY intimidated the first day I was here. At first I was soooo excited to have found NC.com. Then I began reading and I was like..."is this a different language? Are they trying to keep all this a secret?" HAHA!

It took me several days to get the hang of the abbreviations, and I still have to check some of them!

Wish there was an easy way for newbies (like me) to see them...maybe like the news channels with a crawl at the bottom of the screen! LOL!

BREAKING NEWS!!! LVPNG (L'Oreal Vive Pro Nutre Gloss)...BRHG (Biosill Rock Hard Gell)...KCCC (Kinky Curly Curling Custard)...KCKT (Kinky Curly Knot Today)

this is part of the reason I drifted away from the hair boards...it's all like so I tried out my KMSB today, and they worked great! after adding a little GJSU and a few drops of BNSI, I had AGHD! NFIUSHVIVAFVWHATAREYOUEVENSAYING?

ahem. right. acronyms. they suck. COME ON PEOPLE YOU HAVE A KEYBOARD USE IT.

That would be awesome

I did go put a list of acronyms that have been used in my blog on there...see I'm listening. I still have a hard time with some of them. It took me weeks to figure out that DMHJ stood for Donna Marie Honey & Aloe Jelly. And what the heck is LOOC?

And it's such an epidemic that I actually see people doing it on their blogs! I guess they figure that only their NC.com friends will be reading their blogs, but that's really not true -- and if a person lands on their blog from an Internet search of some sort, they will definitely not know what the heck GTTTT or LVPNG (or whatever) is!

I've been trying really hard to spell stuff out the first time I mention it in a post -- the way I would do if I were writing a report or letter or something. We've got a ton of new people here and all the acronyms are so off-putting for them....

Jess: I do the same thing lately in my brain! How wild is that?
Same here in my fotki and youtube. I usually remember on youtube, but not so much on fotki because the pw is on here.

Me too! I was talking about KCCC and porosity to my sister the other day (she has barely wavy hair but is on a mod-CG routine) and she looked at me like I was crazy!

One of the first links on the side of my blog says "What am I talking about?" with a link to the ReddishRocks thread. I've still had comments asking what the acronyms are. One was literally "What the heck are you talking about?" - I LOLed at that one

LOOC = lustrasilk olive oil cholesterol, it's strange that i've never used the stuff but I know the acronym!
I like acronyms, saves a lot of typing and you can usually work them out even if it's not immediately obvious.

this thread is way too funny. I also got turned off from the board when i first joined cause i couldnt speak the language. I thought co-washing was to use conditioner and shampoo TOGETHERRRRR in a mixture!!! So i was literally 'co-washing' with both shampoo and conditioner in the palm of my hands for like, 7 months, NO LIE!! Till i decided to revisit the board... oopssss!!!

Thanks. I'm not going to try it just yet. I am super happy with the KCCC right now. I just need to figure out a way to make the front look normal.

LOOB is L'Oreal Out of Bed.

Actually personal lube (as in KY) has lots of medical and other uses, including the hair. It's great as a frizz fighter and is similar to Curl Keeper
