Talking OK, y'all gotta stop or clue me in!

I'm so confused with all these acronyms & abbreviations!

I swear I've gone crazy trying to figure them out!

This old brain can't handle it anymore!

LOL

I so feel your pain.. would it kill us to just type out the word?

I mean, really? Would it kill us?

Another thing I wish this site had was a spell checker.

I know there is a list posted somewhere but half the stuff is not listed and I do not have all day to research! I try to spell it out the first time or at least the Brand to make it easier. It Is so funny I couldn't figure out what GTTTT was and it turned out I was using it! ( Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat!)

The abbreviations kill me. I never know what anyone is talking about!

Here is a list that helps me sometimes.
Acronyms/Abbreviations/Definitions!

I've participated in that thread and Reddish Rocks has done an outstanding job keeping it updated... but I still think it wouldn't kill us to type out the words.. I know there are some that most of us know.. Kcc to name one (Kinky Curly Custard) but there are some that I just can't figure out and I'm too lazy to click on the above link.. mainly because it's not where I am.. maybe it should be posted in every sub-forum?

Actually, its KCCC. Kinky Curly Curling Custard . But trust me, in no time you will be swinging the abbreviations out like word vomit! I was the same way, but now the abbreviations make sense. Stick around the site a couple more weeks, and you will get it

I actually think of the names as the acronyms now and don't know the full names of half the stuff I put in my hair...how ridiculous is that?

Boy, do I agree with you guys. Especially with some products that are not all that widely used (or that will clearly have a short life span here on the boards), it's a royal pain to have to pause and think "Now what was that stuff again?"

And it's such an epidemic that I actually see people doing it on their blogs! I guess they figure that only their NC.com friends will be reading their blogs, but that's really not true -- and if a person lands on their blog from an Internet search of some sort, they will definitely not know what the heck GTTTT or LVPNG (or whatever) is!

I've been trying really hard to spell stuff out the first time I mention it in a post -- the way I would do if I were writing a report or letter or something. We've got a ton of new people here and all the acronyms are so off-putting for them....

Jess: I do the same thing lately in my brain! How wild is that?

We should start a grassroots movement and actually type out the actual name of products.
You never know, it may catch on.

I also think this LINK should be a sticky in every sub-forum.

It's crazy. When I'm picking what to use that day only the acronym goes through my head, even though I'm staring at the full name. Although I used to be married to a Marine so acronyms are nothing new for me.

On my blog I put the full name of the product as the title and a good picture if I can get one so that even when I use the acronym it is obvious what I am talking about. I also try to post with the name and then the acronym here when trying to help someone new to the boards.

Just realized I have tons of acronyms in my blog...ahhhh..off to make a helpful list...
