Apple Cider Vinegar

So I tried an ACV rinse and now I think I might have used too much because I can still smell it. I used about 2 to 3 tablespoons for my thick hair. I washed with Burt's Bees Grapefruit and conditioned with Suave Waterlilly and Aloe. Than rinsed out the conditioner and ACV.

After that I applied FOTE AVG and L'oreal glossy curls.

Did I use too much ACV?

I'll tell you right now it's a boyfriend repellent. He doesn't like the smell of it!

You may have used too much. Next time try 3:1 ratio of water to vinegar, respectively.
I can usually smell it until my hair dries, or I rinse it out. After it dries you can't smell it at all though.

Currently Using: Suave Coconut, Aldi's Biolage Conditioning Balm knockoff, LOOB, and LA Looks sport gel....cheap and simple seems to be working better!

I pineappled at night and still can smell it a little bit, I think I might have used too much. However, I have cute little clumpy curls! I definitely need to take pics for later.

I have very dense hair and I use 2 TBLs of ACV with 2 cups of water. When it dries I can't smell it. Sometimes when I work out and start to sweat the smell gets revived a bit.

Some people use citric acid instead of ACV. It's a little lower on the acidic scale but there is no smell to it.

mpgirl,
Good to know.l The smell is kind of fading a bit throughout the day. I love the fact that my curls are so bouncy, shiny, and soft. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the wash or the products that I used last night or the fact that I pineappled over night.

Here's my list:
Shampoo with Burt's Bees Shiny Grapefruit
ACV rinse
Conditioner Suave Naturals Waterlily Aloe
FOTE AVG
L'oreal Glossy Curls spray gel

An ACV rinse re-balances the pH balance of the hair after shampooing and smooths the cuticles after they've been ruffled up by the surfactants in the shampoo. A smoother surface means less frizz and shinier curls.

And remember: boyfriends can be replaced- shiny, bouncy hair - you can never get enough!
