I just started this at the end of march so I don't have any winter regimen just yet. Although, since I live in Central Florida, I'm guessing I won't have much of a winter regimen either way!!

I'm still using my winter routine that I started in December. It's still working well. I'm thinking and hoping that it'll work well year round. I like having the same sort of routine/products.

My temperatures may be higher, but the dews are still in the 30s and my hair hasn't been reacting any differently. Of course, I hadn't totally settled into something that worked either, so it's hard to tell with my constant experimenting what I should be doing.

Temps here are a bit higher (50s&60s but then back down to the 40s tomorrow!!) but the dewpoints are stuck in the teens and low 20s. The products I was using in the winter (lustrasilk and Mop C and a gel) are not cutting it. I have been having good luck with Balbaii's sculpting clay and KCCC the past couple days. I have been able to add in some glycerin (gel-les'c). I am really thinking I need another hair cut. I think to make my thin hair look a bit fuller my stylist did not cut in as many layers but I think I need a bit more layering.

Yup I'm a little bit at a loss these past few weeks but somehow I'm pulling it off. I've let up a little on the moisture and instead of a LI I've been using FOTE for moisture and hold. Then topping off with whatever, KCCC/BRHG or Alagio/BRHG. My 1st day has been softer then 2nd day consistently no matter what I do so yeah, I"m a little I hate the idea that we're going to need a routine for every darn Season. If dews are the only thing we're supposed to be watching then WHY oh WHY isn't the Winter routine working? Temps have to play a part too but I'm no scientist....But doesn't that seem to make sense? Ugh.........

D, what do you think I should switch up first: Go back from Soap Bars to the Co washing or stick with the winter protocol but add CK?

I'm definitely not using the winter routine anymore but still working on a summer routine! as soon as the weather got more humid I had to change something.
in the winter my hair loved CG + loads of oil and heavy conditioners. now my hair seems to be craving low poo and minimal oil otherwise it looks greasy.

I don't think you have to give up your soap bars, I would try adding CK 1st to your Winter routine see how that goes I doubt your hair is wanting more moisture?

VERY interesting points here, about the warmer temperatures and yet (very odd) extreme dryness that we've been having. Oddly, I'm poofing a bit, too -- and it's most perplexing! The hair is not behaving like winter hair, just as you guys have pointed out.

But I haven't dared to pull out the glycerin yet, or to throw away the leave-in .... Hmmmmm.... (strokes chin, dreamy, mad-scientist expression in eyes......)

When our dews hit over 35, and ours are starting to be that high pretty consistently lately, I don't worry as much about products containing humectants - glycerin, honey, etc. If the dews are under 35, then I've been trying to avoid them. So far, this is working for me. Today our dews are in the high 40's. What's been working great for me the last couple of days is putting in a big glob of Suave Coconut conditioner after using my rinse-out condish and then using a little Mop Top gel (glycerin and honey). I'm amazed than my hair is liking so much of the Suave left in!

ETA: Del, I wouldn't let off on the moisture until the dewpoints are really high.

I also have not been using a leave in lately. I forgot to mention that. I was finding my hair was getting weighed down. But I also don't get the low dewpoint higher temp situation. It would seem the dewpoints would dictate what we use but not on my head! I am going to try your trick of AVG under my other stuff today.

Its starting to act like it did in the fall - bushier, fuzzier, etc. Will try your suggestion.

I know what you're saying seems logical but I was getting weighed down, undefined and poofy with the same amt. of moisture. Since I let up it's much better....I dunno just trying to go with the flow here worse case I get a little dry and do a DT but so far a LI is not helping me at all and using the same amt. of condish as I was seemed like too much moisture. I cut it back by about 1/2 I"m only using a qtr. size instead of a 1/2 dollar.

xcpntl-let us know how the FOTE worked today I decided to go with Komaza pudding/ Recoil/FOTE mixed with BRHG temps are 50 dews a low 20 and only 28% humidity. Having a great day!

rudee-on the DEL2C question about Honey thread we're discussing Dews/air temp and whether to add honey back in yet. I'm still hesitant but if you do let me know how it works.

Del - I cannot report in because I didn't do anything I said I was going to do. I used KBB supersilky as a leave in - no aloe. And I was supposed to use BHRG and Aloe fix but read Aloe Fix as AOMM (don't ask!!) so I mixed AOMM and BHRG over some Babaii sculpting clay. Decent hair day even with all my operator errors!

Default UPDATE

Holy crap, what a difference a year makes.

Ok, so the last time I used CK was the end of Sept. At that point it had been 5 months since I went CG AND I still had a bit of the straightening left on the ends of my hair.

Well, 2 weeks shy of my 1 Year CG anniversary and Holy moly, has my hair changed!! Its is just a head of bouncy ringlets!!

Yes, I still have that crappy cut, and Yes, I need to see if the CK holds up over the course of the day, but the change in my hair is a revelation - I kinda expected last summers hair... but nuh-uh!

On the flip side, this might mean having to find a WHOLE NEW summer HG protocol....
