Default I just tried CK for the first time!

Oh...my...God! I had no idea that my hair could look so good! I am absolutely amazed. I used it by itself and will probably need to use a gel over it in the future as I am getting a little bit of frizz from playing with it so much, but wow! I can totally see this being the beginning of a really bad PJ condition. Seriously, I had no idea something could be this awesome in my hair!

P.S. adding a strong hold gel should help keep the small amount of frizz down that I'm getting, right?

ROFL

You sound like I did the first time I tried CK.

You really shouldn't need gel to keep down frizz, the CK should look after that. You may, however, need a gel for hold as CK on its own has very little.

I apply, by raking and scrunching, it to sopping wet, (and I mean sopping wet) hair. It pretty much coats my hair so I rarely see frizz. Especially on Day 1. If you didn't apply it to your hair while wet enough, you would probably see some frizz.

It was soaking wet when I applied it but I might not have used enough as I only have a sample and wanted to be able to use it one more time so that might be the culprit. I also live in Central Florida about ten miles from the beach.

I've read all the reviews about how much people love it and I always thought, yeah, but they don't have my hair. My hair has always been sooo ridiculously dry and my curls have never been really defined. But, This stuff was just amazing. I mean UH-MAY-ZING! My curls don't ever lose their shape when I let them curl, unless I brush them out so I might not need the gel. In all honesty, I have no idea what the purpose of a gel is really. LOL!! That's so sad that I don't know!

I'm already trying to decide if I should buy a litre of this stuff or just go get some generic KY and use that but I'm afraid the KY won't be quite as good. I'm gonna have to buy a litre I think. Yes...yes I will. I'm seriously so happy I could cry!

With CK ( and JC condition & sculpt) you can scrunch and scrunch when dry and you will not get frizz unlike anything else I have tried. I think maybe you did not use enough.

Considering this is the first time I've ever used it, I'd have to say yes, it is that amazing. I'm 37 years old and I have never, ever seen my hair look quite like this. The curl is so pretty with just a very minimal amount of frizz and I think it's because I really didn't use enough. The frizz is only in certain small areas and that's what makes me think that. It really is that good. Really. Seriously. Amazing. (can you tell I like it?)

Sorry to ask, but what is CK? And is it being compared to KY as in KY jelly?

My MIL is in town and I've got a babysitter for the first time in a year (my kids are 2 and 3 years old). Me and DH are going out tonight! No time for pics! I'll be happy to post some later this weekend.

BTW, I went back and wet my hair down again and added some more CK. I'm waiting for it to dry right now to see how it ends up. Even with the little amount of frizz I did have, I don't even care. It was that much of an improvement! But I added some more and while I'm out tonight I'll be buying some KY(for my hair, of course ) to hold me over til my order comes it! I'm so freakin' happy!!!

To the person who sent the CK to me (I don't know if you want to be named or not) : THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!

CK = Curl Keeper
KY = KY Jelly (yes, you heard that right)

If you go to the top of the General Forum there's a sticky with acronyms listed to make it easier to understand the board "lingo".

tinah - Buy the litre!!!

I use it year round, bought mine almost a year ago and still have some left in my litre bottle.

Reading your rave reviews and how happy you are, is all the thanks I need! I am so glad I was able to help out a fellow curly.
Have fun trying the other stuff I sent you, but I think you are in heaven right now.

Curlmart or frizzoff.com

And CK is an exciting product - especially for summer. I expect the posts extolling its virtues will be starting up within the next month.

This is how good this stuff really is.... I got compliments tonight from two different people I've never met before telling me my hair is gorgeous! That never happens when my hair is curly...ever.

So glad it worked for you, didn't do anything for me - very disappointing. It's too expensive for me to get it shipped over here to try again but I think I might give the KY a go now our weather's getting damper.

I avoided ordering this all last summer because I didn't know how my hair would react to the glycerin. However I have been using WSHP which has glycerin so now I guess I have to order CK. Since I live in Maine, I will wait a month though.
