Default The good-hair-day-before-a-haircut law

So, I'm sure many of you have struggled with your hair so much so that you make a hair appointment. And the day before that appointment, miraculously, your hair looks flawless.

WTF is up with this? I have a haircut tomorrow, and my hair has been looking awful for a month. A full month. And today it turns out perfect. I just don't understand why this happens.

I'm the opposite actually. I have good hair leading up to the cut, but the day of the cut looks barely wavy horrible! And it's embarrassing because my stylist has yet to see what my hair normally looks like!

I can't tell you how many appts I've almost cancelled because my hair looks just the way I want it to on the day of the cut!

And I think *that* is the reason our hair does it! It's self-preservation or something, part of it's devious plan. LOL It figures if it looks good, you'll rethink and cancel that appointment to have it cut. Sometimes it even has the nerve to look perfect the whole week or so, starting from the day after I make that call.

Here's what you do. You schedule a haircut for everyday for a year. That way, EVERYDAY is the day before a haircut! Tada! Perfect hair. Everyday.

I haven't had anything more then a trim in about 10 years, so maybe its time I threatened my hair with the prospect. One side of my hair seems to be growing faster then the other half, giving me volume on one side and a deflated look on the other.

Maybe if I try onethousandcurls' idea it will start to shape up.

I always have a great hair day just when I get fed up and am about ready to chop it all off.

This used to happen to me every single time so the stylist would just think I am nuts pointing out all my problems. I got so many bad cuts I ended up cutting it myself for a year, then I found a great stylist who listens but I used my "reject" products that would make my hair limp and crazy looking the day of the cut and I got a great cut!

I walked into my stylist's yesterday for a dramatically overdue color touch-up (it's been 6 1//2 weeks). I usually go every 4 weeks, and get it trimmed every other time, which should have been two weeks ago. She did the color and than said "your hair looked really good when you walked in. Let's not trim it this time.". Made my day:-) Now to see if the next 4 weeks are OK.

Default p.s.

For me it's turning out that the longer my hair gets, the curlier it is. I've been describing it as 2c/3a, but now I think it's strictly 3a!

I've made appointments when I was having a long stretch of bad hair days and then cancelled because my hair look too good to mess with the day of the appointment. Just leave a post it note with "getting haircut today" posted to your bathroom mirror. It'll trick your hair everytime.

I still got a haircut anyway. I don't trust my hair not to go back into a funk. And the length was making me crazy.

Seriously, I was thinking of posting some pictures today after trimming more layers into my newly selfcut bob, but my hair looked waaay wonky... different curl, shape, crunch, volume... WTF! I was cutting it myself, too!
