Okkk as you all know I've been creating a list of items that Im wanting to try. I need some help. My list is getting longer everyday, thats not my problem though . When I first started CG I was unemployed and spent my tax rebate money on the supplies I bought. I didnt buy a DT and honestly wasnt too satisfied with some of the products I got which have yet to go on the swap boards.
Now my question is I started off using Homemade DTs which made my hair nice, and then Jess the Mess sent me some Lustrasilk Shea Mango which was super nice, but Jess recommended using JCWDT, and I planed on getting that to try it, but now im seeing people post about the KBB Luscious Locks Hair Mask. WHich would your ecommend. I've done my research and see that it works for a LOT of people, and I did read that it doesnt work for one of my hair idols kathymack (i love that woman) BUT i also did realize and I DO NOT mean to step on anyones toes, I realized its recommended by mainly black people (especially on youtube). The only reason i make this statement is my hair is NOT a 4 at all. it's 3A and im pretty sure always will be (ive heard the CK that ive been dying to try may change that though). Anyways do you think it will do wonders on my 3A or should I stick with JCWDT. What do you use? I dont mind rotating products at all. I've realized it keeps my hair guessing.
Anyways what do you think? ANYONES opinion would be welcome.
Honestly, I don't think this is a situation in which type would matter much. I would look more into what works for coarse/low porosity, since that's what you have in your siggie.
I have coarse hair, and while I haven't tried the KBB one (and probably won't since my hair doesn't agree with her products anymore), JCWDT works great for me. I do have a high porosity, so I lose moisture easily. Using it regularly really helped bring moisture back to my hair.
If it were me, I'd go with the cheaper option first. If you don't like it, it is one of the ones that sells fast on the swapboards. And if you can find a coupon code for Curlmart, all the better! Does KM sell samples of the KBB?
Thanks for your comment back Jenn. I've realized my hair responds to naturals products super well. Plus my hair lovesss moisture. I think you may be right about getting the least expensive one first. I was only getting everyones opinion because Ive seen a 40 page recommendation on KBB products, but have never heard much on the Jessicurl Weekly Deep Treatment.
cara, I agree with curlyjenn about the porosity issue being the "factor" in deciding what to do. My hair is low to medium porosity. Since starting with the more natural products that are "heavier," I haven't had to do a DT. My last one was in July, 07. I have to say that my hair didn't care for the Jessicurl products either. I bought the whole "system." After a week, my hair was dull and lifeless--but others love them and I had no trouble getting rid of them on the swap board.
After all those nice things you said, I had to go check what was left in the last of four KBB hair mask jars, LOL--not too much. I think you have a lot of hair and this wouldn't work be enough.
I would definitely suggest you look at the Curl Junkie Deep Fix and Moisture Rehab. Her products are really nice. I stock them for samples, since I don't DT, but I sometimes use them as leave in/curl creme.
3a (Corkicelli), highlighted, fine, low porosity
