Scrunch the Crunch!
Do you use a certain product to scrunch out the crunch in your hair or just your hands? I never thought of using a product but I saw mysteryflavored video about KCCC and she used Jane Carter Nourishing Cream. Has anyone tried this or anything else esp with KCCC?
Thanks

I have tried SOTC with KCCC using JC N&S and using just bare hands. Both gave decent results. The only difference is that my hair was a lot softer and the curl tended to stretch out a lot more with the JC N&S, which was not a desired effect for me. I use JC N&S as a deep treatment instead. I prefer to just SOTC with bare hands.

Wow, I have never heard that before. HOW do you use N&S as a deep treatment?

Thanks for the link, it was perfect except I did not get a real answer on what I can use! I see that most do not like Jane Carter, too greasy. I am trying to find something local I can buy at Ulta, Trade or drugstore. Anyone have any ideas?

i actually just scrunch out with FOTE AVG. I apply a little pea size amount at a time, emulsify, and gently scrunch from bottom to top.

A tiny bit of coconut oil works, Deva SMU, LOOB can all be found at the store. If you do order I love the Wild Woozle pomade but also use DM cocoa hemp or Ohm avocado custard.

I use DM L&T and it makes me happy. I've also used it to try and perk 'em up/smooth 'em out when I had a random nap, worked pretty well.

I, too, found the JC N & S too greasy. These days I use the the Komaza Califia Moisture Cream or Spray or Ohm Hair Custard.

I normally use Deva SIF to scrunch out the crunch. I haven't really experimented with anything else yet.

After washing (cowashing, water wash...whatever lights my fancy that particular evening...lol), I towel dry my hair and then take a nice nickel sized glob of N&S and put it in my hair. Now, if you've ever used N&S, you know that a nickel sized glob is a HUGE amount of that stuff, given how it distributes and how heavy it is. So anyway, I rub the glob between my palms (I believe this is called emulsifying it?) and then scrunch it all in my damp hair and let my hair air dry overnight.
The next morning I have Rick James hair, but I get in the shower and rinse my hair well with warm water and voila. Perfectly conditioned.

Can someone tell me if they see a difference when they use a product to SOTC or their hands? Does it make your curls look different? Perhaps better clump or bounce?

I think it causes less frizz. Depending what I use, it sometimes cause them to tighten up a little.

I just use my hands. Using butters makes tons of frizz, takes my curl out and flattens my hair. Sometimes I can use conditioner if my hair feels drier.

I've been using DM L&T the last few days, adn find that it makes my hair shinier and the curls slightly more defined. I used to just use my bare hands to SOTC, but after the success of the DM L&T I wanna try experimenting!
Can KBB butters or DM butters be used to SOTC?

I used to use the KBB cream/butter to SOTC. There are other products that I like better. You could also use the DM Coco Hemp Buttercream, if you have that.

Wait, which one causes less frizz? Hands or product?
