Tweek users, CG question about buildup

I had been a modified CG for years where I used a low poo every week. Recently, I decided to take it to the next level and now do cowashes a few times a week with a supplemental shampoo bar wash every 2 weeks or so. My hair has loved it for the most part. However, I still have those dreaded second days. I can make my hair look decent, but theres quite a bit more frizz and my hair feels rough and dry and looks a little dull.

Tweek sounds right up my alley as a second day product. However because of my limited "washing" I'm afraid it will build-up. Johathan Torch claims the product is water-soluble, and I hope that is the case. However, before I order I'd like to ask other CG's are using/have used Tweek while doing CG. If so, what was your experience? Did it work? More importantly, did it build-up?

I used Tweek a lot when it first came out. It gives soft hold and a little extra body. I did not find that it built up at all. I used it almost everyday and only co-wash once a week. Even though it was sticky on my hands, my hair didn't feel sticky or product-y than normal. I seem to be able to load product on my hair with no ill effects so it may be different for others.

Thanks! Any particular reason you stopped using it?

The usual reason - even though I really liked it, there was always something new to try.

After some experimenting with other products, I went back to my original combo of CK and gel. While most curlies seem to hate adding water to Day 2 hair, I just spritz, smooth and scrunch. I find I need the spritz and scrunch to completely revive my hair.

I still keep Tweek in my purse for windy days. It is perfect for taming the mess.

Well I was so excited to try this and no go. Yes, it gave me lots of body, but it also made my hair feel stiff, dry and look undefined. It was hard to wash off my hands which makes me think it will be really hard to wash off my hair using just water and conditioner. It got this glitter stuff all over my hands, too and my hands seemed dry and a little itchy. And the smell is very chemical to me. I actually pulled out the low-poo and washed my hair to get it out.

Bummer....:sad3:
