Stay CG-only for my wedding or not?

Hey curlies,

I have so been enjoying these boards! I'm about 7 weeks into my shampoo-free CG experience. Still experimenting a lot. I am loving KCKT + KCCC + BRHG (thanks to kathymack for the samples!) but only when I have time for it to dry into a completely crunchy, wet-looking style- it's worth it though, because it scrunches out just beautifully with a little jojoba oil on my hands!

So, on to my main point: My wedding is coming up in early July in upstate NY. It will most likely be hot and humid. I still have time to experiment, but I'm not sure I trust my CG products to stay through the whole day. I don't know why, I just don't! I want to be assured I will look great in all the photos, all day and night!

(A bit off-topic, but I'm planning to wear my just-above-shoulder-length hair mostly down with a few pieces twisted & pinned back with pearl pins)

So... if you were me, would you stick to a CG combo that works 90% of the time, or would you revert to a previous favorite product, which was Curls Rock creme? Just for that day... Do you think just ONE sulfate wash post-wedding followed by a DT would leave my hair in approximately the same great condition as before the silicones & sulfates?

But I don't want my hair to be dried out for my honeymoon... *sigh*

What would YOU do?

Thanks so much!
Tons of curlies swear by Curl Keeper for the summer humidity. You still have plenty of time to experiment with that before your wedding. One day of cones wont kill you though. You might even be able to get the cone out without a SLS shampoo. Look at Lazy Loops siggie for more info on that.

I agree that you have time to keep using your products to see how they continue to hold up. If you want to use the other product, I would try it again before the big day, as your hair may react differently now that it's CG. I don't think it will kill your hair to use it again though.

Congrats on the coming wedding!

Glad you love the products. If you like the KC combination, there are many others that give you similar curls--but take less time to dry. Many of us rotate products, so we're not using the same things all of the time anyway. Maybe you can find a few more things you really like. And then make the decision.

I ditto the above. Whatever you do, don't make a change on your wedding day. Use the same product combo/system for about 2 weeks before so it's second nature (amounts, technique, etc).

Thank you very much for the input. I'll keep experimenting for sure. I think I have this KT KCCC BRHG thing down though! And I will definitely make as much time for it as I need on the wedding day.

When you say "curl keeper" is that the product by Curly Hair Solutions? I will have to give that a try.

Also, for hairspray. (maybe I should try a new thread search for this) The only spray I see in curlmart is by CIrcle of Friends, the Vanilla Freeze Spray. Does anyone know if it works? I would only use it for special/outdoor occasions...
