I was just about to make a post about this so maybe you can answer this... what's the difference between a lock n twist gel, an activator gel or a just a regular styling gel?

And what do you love about this lock n twist gel?

Hi,
Sorry I took so long to answer. I don't know the difference even though I tried all three. The best one for my hair is the lock n' twist gel because it leaves my hair so soft and tangle free. It works better for me than the flax seed gel I was using. The flax seed gel would tend to leave my hair a little dry.
I usually mist my hair with a little water, apply the shea butter leave-in and then apply the lock and twist gel. This routine has been working for me during these Summer months. My hair is still a little frizzy but I guess that's just my hair. Have you tried it yet? Let me know what you think.
Thanks in advance

I haven't tried it yet but I guess I'm going to have to because you said the magic words "soft...tangle free.." and it doesn't leave your hair dry feeling. So now I guess I'll get some this weekend. Where are you buying it?

3b - dry - medium texture/medium porosity!
Co wash/rinseout/leave in: currently auditioning products
Styling: lube and BRHG
I've used it for a long time, even before I was CG. I like the natural organic ingredients, and I like the fact that it leaves my hair soft and natural looking.

I don't know why more curlies don't use it, perhaps it doesn't provide enough hold for 2's, but it nicely defines my 3a/b curls.

I'm getting more excited to try it now!! How are you using it? Just like a regular gel? Putting it on in soaking wet hair or "towel dried"?

i will try it also! i see that your product list is very similar to mine (do you only use coconut milk (from a can?) as your DT alone? do tell. sounds cool.

i had an olive oil scalp leave-in treatment from 'root stimulator' brand that i just threw out this week b/c it had cones in it. and mineral oil and lanolin. does this one also? will have to look that up. this new cone free existence is working well for me so i gotta stick with that big time.

There isn't any sticky residue after it drys. I know I'm not supposed to run my fingers through my curls, but old habits die hard, and I still do sometimes and I can't stand the feeling of hair product left in my hands, and I don't like my hair to feel all sticky or stiff and producty either.

I get it from Duane Reade or CVS.

I use my leave-in conditioner on wet hair (sometimes soaking wet but not always) and then I apply the lock n' twist gel. Another thing that I like about it is that I can wet my hair a little in the morning and apply more gel and my hair still doesn't look or feel greasy. Just soft. My hair soaks it right up.

Try it. Yes, I use the coconut milk from a can. Last week I tried coconut cream and I think it works better than the milk. The coconut cream is a little greasy but I was able to cowash it right off. I have to try it again and see if I really like it better than the milk. I'll keep you posted.

I tried the Lock n' Twist gel without the leave-in and I don't have any frizz.
Thanks in advance
