Default FOTE Gel

I just bought a big bottle last night for cheap. My only concern is what should I use with it, if anything? What does everyone here use under or over it? I'm curious to know what works for you. I am just afraid using it alone will not be enough hold.

I'm generally not someone who requires a lot of hold -- I can use KCCC by itself, and there are a lot of gels that I have a hard time scrunching out. But I would definitely not be able to use FOTE by itself. My hair always feels amazing when I use it -- it scrunches out easily and because it's so moisturizing my hair feels incredibly soft, but never overconditioned. But within minutes all the FOTE is gone and my hair goes crazy if I don't use something else to tame it.

Lately I've been using a generous amount of KY (I'm too cheap to spring for CK and KY seems to work just fine) with FOTE over it -- combed in and then scrunched upside down. I still haven't mastered combining it with KCCC because I can't figure out which one should go on the first layer (KCCC because it always works best directly on the curls? Or FOTE because it makes my hair soft and otherwise has no real hold?). Anyway, I love FOTE and I'm trying to combine it with everything so I can use it all the time. I'm thinking you could probably also apply it directly to your hair and then put a gel over it for extra hold.

FOTE, for me, does not provide any hold. What it does provide is moisture. It helps provide enough moisture to my hair that I can restyle it for 2nd and 3rd day.

I love playing around w/ FOTE and adding different stuff to it. This morning I got awesome hair with this experiment: My sons use this gel called Spike It by Beyond the Zone from Sally's. It is SO hard holding that it is ridiculous. But today I put a small puddle of FOTE in my hand, and then mixed in just a drop of Spike It. Scrunched through like usual, air dried an hour, then diffused. Curls galore! Bouncy, shiny, awesome! Lots of hair compliments today!
